Grapefull Sisters offers everything an outstanding winery has: delicious wine, a friendly atmosphere, and plenty of spaces to relax. Driving up to the tasting room, we noticed the idyllic, rustic setting. The grounds were well-kept and offered lots of shaded, grassy areas for an afternoon picnic. Wrapping around the tasting room, the farmhouse front porch provides a wonderful place to sit in a rocking chair or porch swing and sip the day away. If you have a larger group, the tasting room has a screened-in side porch to accommodate you. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Amy and Sheila--southern hospitality at its finest. These sisters own and operate the winery on land which has been in their family for generations so there is truly a sense of deep pride and commitment with these ladies. A picture of their parents is proudly displayed near the tasting bar which gives the visitor a sense how close-knit this family is. We were able to taste all their wines, and they offer something for every taste: dry, semi-dry and sweet wines. This vineyard is unique as they grow muscadines, a grape native to NC, and they grow all their grapes on-site. During our tasting, Amy was so knowledgeable about the health benefits of muscadines and recommended many food-wine pairings for us. They also offer non-alcoholic juices if someone in your party needs that option. After our tasting, we browsed their gift shop. Here we found jams and jellies made locally with local fruit, lots of handcrafted objects, and many on-trend, unique items made by artisans in the area. If you are looking for a laid-back afternoon or just need to escape the busyness of the beach, spend some time here supporting this wonderful,...
Read moreWe booked a snow bird stay from 11/30/2024 thru 03/31/2025. Paid in full upon arrival. Immediate problems occurred! They shut off your water every night from 11:00pm until 9:00 am. After complaining, they turned it on at 5:00am. They obviously shouldn’t be open if they won’t supply water 24/7! After digging into the constant lying about water supposedly being frozen I found out that the county turned off the water due to them being delinquent on paying their water/ sewage bill!!! The county said the clipped the security band and turned the water back on themselves, stealing water for over a month. After confronting these deadbeats about paying the bill they still kept turning water off every night because their plumbing cannot handle freezing temps! So they called the cops to have me trespassed which was illegal and the cop they have in their pocket was demoted due to being warned ahead of time the trespass law is illegal and he and the owner Byron Carrol has a history of bullying. Punching out guests and employees alike. Read all reviews on many sites that will back up everything I’m telling you. This whole family are a group of false Christians that got caught STEALING water and are currently behind on taxes to boot. I implore you all to research this swamp of a campground / winery as reviews of both spell out what kind of family the Carrolls are, liars, thieves, and cheats! They will claim they have an Innkeepers license and rights but that’s a lie to get you out! Those “ inn keepers “licenses haven’t existed for many years . Remember, if you paid in advance you cannot be trespassed in North Carolina . Better yet…. Avoid this place...
Read moreWe were in town for sc state softball tournaments. We did not want to pay the vacation prices of other campgrounds since we would only be there at night. We came across this place on an rv app that we use. It was roughly 10 minutes from where the tournament was in loris. The staff is super helpful, we were not sure how many days we needed because it was double elimination games. They were willing to work with me daily if needed. The park is quiet and just far enough away from the beach to stay out of traffic. This is a very relaxing place to stay. It doesn’t have all the extra amenities that some have which is why is it so reasonably priced. Who wants to pay extra just because your campground has things to offer that you aren’t going to use. If you want to party it up this is not the place. If you want to relax and spend time around a fire or relax around the pool without having to deal with a bunch of riff raff this is the place. The cell phone signal isn’t great but they have good enough wi-fi to stream movies. I haven’t had that good of wi-fi at anyplace I have stayed yet. The sites are shaded enough that my ac cycled off and on during 98 degree days. That usually doesn’t happen. |Ps there is a grocery store 3 minutes away called Fowler’s. I read other previously posting about how far it was to get supplies but that isn’t the case. Fowler’s is a small community store but had everything you would need even a large...
