California Landmark Group — Local services in Los Angeles

I would give this company a rating of 0 (zero) stars if I could. I am spending my valuable time to write this review to inform any person seeking to rent at a property owned and or operated the headache I have had to deal with when it comes to California Landmark Group.

I will start off by saying CLG as a company is by no means professional, helpful, friendly, or customer oriented in any manner. As a former resident at The HW, I will say DO NOT EVER PAY RENT online from any website owned by CLG. I have had over $200,000 taken from my accounts. When bringing this up to CLG and showing the district manager Gaea proof and documents showing my claim, it was my advice from Gaea to take them to court.

Aside from the above, when bringing up the website for each property and showing the district manager that their sites do not use SSL certificates, are unsafe to make payments on due to cookie tracking and splitting, any sort of explanation or customer service did not exist. I lived at one of their properties for over 2 years. When we moved out we did not receive our deposit or a notice explaining why they were keeping our deposit within the 21 days limit under CA law. On top of it, they tried to claim that we had to replace all of the flooring in the apartment. My biggest issue isn't even being upset over possibly owing CLG money. My issue is that now that we have decided to proceed to small claims court, they have been extremely unresponsive and unprofessional is their response. I sent a demand letter to my former apartment manager, the accounting office, the leasing office AND the home office and received no response from anyone in over a month! Keep in mind a demand letter is the first step in filing a claim. They stone wall you in hopes that you'll buckle and give in to them. Hopefully when they get served that will be the wake up call they need. I’ve lived at multiple CLG buildings over the years and it’s amazing. Such a refreshing change of pace from past apartments. HW in Hollywood and G8 in Marina Del Rey are particularly gorgeous. What I love most about renting with CLG is that the buildings and units are so well designed with beautiful architecture and common areas that it honestly feels like I’m on vacation when I’m at home. I have all the amenities one would expect from a hotel. A lot of my neighbors have been living in the building since it first opened years ago which is reassuring because it shows that CLG continues to reset the bar on amazing tenant & lifestyle experience.
