Professional, Personable, and Extremely Helpful

On Saturday March 12, 2022, I arrived at Extra Space Storage to complete my online reservation re Unit. Ana greeted me with a big smile and was ready to help posture. I Explained that I had ordered a unit online and wanted to complete the transaction. She looked up my account online and verified my information and began to explain the size of the Unit I had reserved. I was astonished when I realized it was a very small "locker". However, Ana, without a moment of hesitation, suggested that I see the Unit before signing the agreement. Well, needless to say, it was too small, much too small. Before I could even muster up feelings of frustration, Ana offered to and showed me three additional Units within my budget range. I was quite happy with the placement and size of the last Unit shown. We returned to the office and finalized (signed, dated) the electronic agreement. Ana showed me how to set up the lock code for the Unit and how to open the door of the Unit, a unique contraption. :)

Ana is professional, personable, funny, and extremely helpful.

I highly recommend Extra Space...

Total monopoly rip-off. Extra Space storage bought all the mom n pops and now does surge pricing without notifying you always. It’s disgusting😤😡 DO NOT store ANYTHING more than a couple months with them. Today the cost is equal or close to rent prices and NOT WORTH IT!!!

I got a space here for a few years and didn’t even know they did seasonal surge pricing until 2 years in, noticing they almost DOUBLED the initial agreed upon rate. They said they sent physical postcards out with any increase notifications but for over 2 years I never ever got one. The staff person said they hear that often from customers - I smell scammy behavior😒😡 It took 4 years before I got a few, but not every month.

Also, the on-site staff was nice but incompetent. I had no light in my unit so reducing it during short winter daylight after work took longer. Only to realize I have a light but it the freaking bulb was just out!!! She knew I wanted light for MONTHS! Feeling bad the local mgr said she’d reduce my rate for a few months for my new sized down unit which never materialized on paper and was denied when I asked about it. I was furious.

It’s an ugly commercial business to at takes full advantage of our disdain to deal with the yucky job of storage stuff by literally doubling your monthly rates in a year, hiding it some, and getting rich off of...

It is 120 degrees outside and when Ana Vazquez walked me inside the storage building to look at my new unit, it was like walking into an air conditioned paradise. When they say “climate-controlled”, they really mean it!

I was planning on looking at several other storage places, but after seeing how clean and new-looking these units are (they were built in 2009 but look like 2017), I was sold. Ana is a seven-year veteran of ExtraSpace, and can rattle off anything by memory with ease. Plus, she’s damned nice and happy.

She showed me several different sizes, including the unit I had reserved online, and I was sold by her customer service and how clean, bright and safe the units are.

Never had a storage place before, but this looks like I hit the jackpot.

Notes: I only looked at inside units They offer insurance (break-ins, flood, earthquake) for an additional charge if you want it. I took it. Zero deductible!
