Garden Gate Day Spa & Salon — Local services in Los Lunas

I recently learned of the Golden Gate Spa from a friend who was going to have a massage there. I was surprised to hear that our community had a place that offered a relaxing atmosphere so decided to book an appointment. I had a choice of a male or female masseuse and chose Pierre. After that first appointment I have never looked back and have now had three massages with Pierre and my next one booked. I have a high stress job and travel for work. I come home with a lot of tension but when Pierre is finished I am relaxed with no knots in my neck and shoulders and ready for my next trip. A luxury every working woman deserves! You receive a discount if you book your next appointment right away and there is always $10 off on Thursday's. Pierre is professional with a charming personality that has you chatting if you wish or quite and relxed as he works on you. I have had a 60 min deep tissue massage and the 1:20 Swedish massage. Both are great but I prefer the extra 30 min I get with the Swedish as well as the limb and neck stretching included which is completely relaxing. The spa itself is lovely with a very calm vibe in the treatment area. With your massage you receive the use of the facilities. I have enjoyed their dry and wet saunas in the private ladies locker room. Robe, towel and all necessities are provided to clean up afterwards. I look forward to using their other amenities in the future. I made a visit to the cafe after my last visit and it was good. Service is a bit slow so don't stop by if in a hurry. GET the chocolate cake! Amazing!

So happy to now have a convienient Spa nearby where there is friendly staff and a relaxing environment....

What a wonderful afternoon! I went in early for my facial and enjoyed the mineral pool, hot tub, and steam room. When you check in, you go into the the change room where the showers, steam room, and sauna are. You also get a Spa Attendant. After a quick rinse I went out to the hot tub and pool area (Coed). The hot tub was very clean as was the pool. There was wonderful relaxing music playing and it was fairly quiet. Several chairs, lounge chairs, and tables were around the pool. The tall green bushes and fences provide a private and safe experience. After I spent time in the hot tub and pool I went into the steam sauna. The Attendant sprayed eucalyptus essential oil in the sauna and it was wonderful! The Spa Attendant took my order for lunch, a really good dill chicken salad sandwich on toasted bread. I met her back by the pool and had a great lunch. When it was time for my facial, the Spa Attendant came and accompanied me to the facial area. It was very clean and so serene. I had a really great facial by Ulysses. Then I headed back to the dressing room and made good use of the rain shower (it is amazing). First time going today, with my daughter n law and a friend. I was pleased on entering, the immediate welcome was fantastic. Major points for that. Dana and Anna were great on coming to get us and showing us where to go and getting robes for us. The music playing in the background was absolutely perfect. We did the Dip and Dine, $40 each, which included the use of the pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room plus a meal. The meal was light and delicious. The water they provided was refreshing. They do provide lockers for belongings, which is great as well as provide towels and robes. The downsides for me, why I rate it only 4 stars, was the smell of the dispensary, the sauna's light wasn't working, thus, I didn't go in due to the darkness. The steam room was nice, however it would have been nicer if there was eucalyptus, because the smell in there wasn't that great, I was only in there for a few minutes. Will I recommend? Yes.
