Zero stars for Savannah Miller's zero patience when interacting with kids and zero professionalism when interacting with parents. We initially signed my daughter up for the three-day horse camp as advertised on Facebook. On Tuesday, July 9, I accompanied my daughter (along with two members of our family) to the camp and witnessed Savannah consistently berating the camp kids and constantly being distracted on her phone. There was no structure to the camp (kids played tag, jumped on the trampoline, etc.) and my daughter learned nothing about riding. When it came time to ride (30 mins of riding time out of a 4 hour camp), my daughter was screamed at by Savannah when she didn't know how to dismount. This was my daughter's first time riding and she was given no instruction beforehand by Savannah. My husband addressed Savannah's behavior and intolerance at the end of the first day. Savannah did not take accountability and instead said "I am known for making kid's cry" (seemingly acting proud of her behavior). My family and I decided, later that afternoon, that my daughter would not be returning to Serenity Stables. When we requested a refund for the two remaining days of the camp ($166), Savannah became unreasonable and referenced the Facebook advertisement as showing that the money was "non-refundable." I have screenshots of the Facebook advertisements (dating back to Feb. 28 even) and there is no such statement. During our 5 min phone call, Savannah blurted the reason for her constant distraction and short-tempered behavior was due to personal ongoing problems. I did not ask for this information nor did I seek an explanation for her behavior. I just wanted a refund for the remaining two days. We, as a family, do not feel Savannah handled this situation with professionalism and care. If her full attention was not on the camp and instead focused on personal issues, she could've rescheduled the camp. Moreover, we do not feel that our daughter's safety and well-being were prioritized by this instructor. We have since found a new stable and instructor that is professional, patient,...
Read moreI boarded my mare with Savannah for a few months while I was in nursing school a year and a half ago. I worked off some of my board- and she has exceptionally high standards for the care of the animals. On days I wasn’t working, my horse was well cared for and the others that worked there were also held accountable for the standards Savannah laid out for the animal’s care. It’s exceptionally clean. Hay is quality- I went with her to pick up one day and the farmer tested his hay and answered the 101 questions I had about it. My horse never dropped weight in transition. Farriers and vets know Savannah well and always were available if a new horse needed care. Grain and meds were religiously given to those who needed it. I saw one review giving her one star. Savannah’s horses are not skinny. They are in great shape and are active horses. Truly a problem now is people that overfeed horses and do not understand appropriate body condition. While I did not see this woman’s horse that I know of, I have seen Savannah’s horses and personally body clipped her horse and another boarder on the property after this winter. Neither horse was “skinny”. I always recommend Savannah’s for boarding or kid’s lessons/camp. She is great with children and teaches them great skills- for both life and horsemanship. The only reason why I no longer board is because we have become casual friends and I personally prefer to keep business and friendship separate, but I also bought a horse...
Read moreWe’ve been so thrilled with the experience at Serenity Stables! My 5-year-old daughter has been taking riding lessons here for a while now, and not only has she developed her riding skills, but the lessons and chores have done wonders for her confidence and work ethic. She’s also part of the rodeo team, and seeing her grow in both ability and character has been amazing. Savannah is patient, kind, and knowledgeable, and she really make sure each child is supported at their own pace while also encouraging them to push themselves. The facility itself is well-maintained and welcoming, creating a positive and safe environment for both beginners and more experienced riders. It’s been incredible to watch my daughter develop a love for horses while also learning valuable life lessons, such as responsibility, perseverance, and teamwork. I can’t recommend Serenity Stables enough for anyone looking to get their child involved in horseback riding. It’s been a...
