One of Louisville's best places for fresh and gorgeous fruit and vegetables. They always have terrific produce, much of it locally-grown and all of it light years ahead of the sad, pale things you'll find at the supermarket. Peach season is a special highlight, and I sn't imagine making pie or cobbler without a trip here. In addition to produce, they also have an extensive deli with a fine menu of delicious sandwiches and sides. Afterwards you can finish your meal with delicious Amish homemade baked goods. None of this even mentions the selection of sauces, preserves, salsas and more. Again, most are local products and the quality of all I have tried have been excellent. If you're serious about food, you owe it to yourself to stop by and take a look at all these folks have to offer. I guarantee you will leave with a bag full of goodness!

This is such an underrated Louisville Gem! The Garden Gate team put so much thoughtfulness and effort into their seasonal decorations. We go every year to get pumpkins and are always so happy to see the traditional hand painted signs and pretty displays. It feels whimsical and cozy and is a part of our family tradition! They have cute photo ops all over which we definitely take advantage of too! We also always stop in for a sandwich and fun local snacks that are always delish. The employees are also always friendly. Thank you Garden Gate for all the joy over the years!

Great selection of everything you'd want for a suburban garden, good prices on the plants and nice small grocery store environment of locally grown / Amish produce and gourmet culinary goods, not all the staff is knowledgeable regarding gardening questions, you would need to run down Dale the owner.. . but definitely a one of a kind place if you're a gardener and want a great deli sandwich with some good sides before or after your gardening shopping is over, be sure to check this place out, great parking and centrally located.

Some of the most outrageously rude and condescending customer service... I bought 11 plants and was charged for SIXTEEN. When I went in the next day to get my money back, the whole store (family) gave me the third degree like I was a liar/thief... All because their cashier consistently rings things up wrong... last time we got two box lunches there, it was supposed to be $22, and the same cashier tried to tell us it was $42? LOL... it almost makes me feel like they are price gouging and adding a couple dollars on top of everyone's order, although I obviously can't prove that. REGARDLESS, I'll never go back... WAYYYYY over priced anyways. I live down the street, & like to shop local; shame on them for being on the automatic defensive, and even going as far to say "they hate being here/being open."...

During the growing season, I love Garden Gate Market. However, yesterday's visit was not as much of a success. If you're hungry for lunch, a yummy Boar's Head sandwich can be had, as well as a cup or bowl of soup. But if it's produce or the like that you're after.. you're better off elsewhere. The selection was very poor and what was there was at best mediocre. I vought some leeks and a few beets. The rest of the few things I bought could have been purchased at any grocery for much less, I'm sure. The folks that were in there working behind the deli counter were friendly but the owner (?) seemed perturbed that I dared to speak to her. I plan to reserve my future trips to Garden Gate for the main produce season or to buy garden...
