[Update 07/28] After sharing my concerns with the course, I received a kind and thoughtful response from their team. They acknowledged the situation, offered a full refund, and expressed a genuine interest in improving the experience for beginners. I really appreciate their follow-up and plan to give the course another try.
Disappointed Experience – Rushed and Unwelcoming for Beginners
Our tee time was 4:20 PM, but we didn’t start until 4:35. The course’s posted play time is 2 hours and 10 minutes, so we should’ve finished around 6:45. Instead, we were forced to skip a hole and a half and still finished at 6:40 — ahead of pace.
We spent well over 10 minutes speaking with the marshal, who was not particularly kind or understanding. With a beginner in our group, the pressure and judgment completely ruined their experience.
It’s frustrating — how can new players improve if they’re not given the time or support to learn? Very...
Read moreThe folks working at OC are consistently rude and condescending, in person and on the phone, and do not exemplify the courtesy and professionalism that is associated with the game of Golf. We had a Marshall rudely interrupt as we were putting to tell us to leave PRIOR to sunset, then had another employee forcefully tell us where we were supposed to return carts - while we were still unloading. The starter has also held us back from teeing off on time when the group in front of us were on the green. And we don't see the Marshalls addressing slow groups with open holes in front of them. We play weekly, follow all rules, and are not sure why the culture at these Loveland courses is so consistent - we've had the same experience with employees at Marianna Buttes. They also do not support Youth on Course programs. The experience is much more enjoyable at FoCo courses, or any other area...
Read moreThis is a nice, muni style course that is a good deal for a well kept facility. Its layout is fairly packed in. This winter it has been closed for more than the usual number of days. Today only the front 9 was open, leading to a bit of congestion and reduced ability to play 18. It is very walkable, fairly flat, and popular. There is a fairly interesting island-like green on #14. The driving range borders #1 & #4 making dull, mustard yellow a color to avoid. The greens have subtle breaks. Knowing the layout on each hole is useful if scoring matters to you.
There is a moderate difficulty par 3, Cattail, next door. The holes are up to 206 yards officially, but you can lengthen the holes with wandering to the back of the tee boxes. Geese like it, making for winter obstacles on the greens. It has a...
