Renjie and I worked together over the course of two months in preparation for a GRE test. We had long sessions (3 hours) each time, but Renjie was focused and prepared and all the breaks we took were on my account. I took two Statistics courses in university, but aside from this hadn't taken any math classes since high school, so I focused all of my hours with Renjie in math. He has all of the hard skills that a good teacher/tutor needs: he has a deep knowledge of math and used repertoire of teaching strategies to help me learn. The teaching and learning strategies Renjie shared with me in math make it so I'm confident in saying I know he has the same skills for verbal reasoning in the GRE (specially) or vocabulary more generally. More than this, Renjie is kind, understanding, friendly, and easy to connect with. Both Renjie and I had traveled and worked abroad for a number of years and so it was fun to share stories in between problem solving. I got accepted into my graduate program of choice, got a full scholarship and a stipend to be a Graduate Teaching Assistance. I was looking for a tutor for my newly homeschooled 11 year old granddaughter in November 2019, shortly after taking her out of public school. REN was referred to us by someone at our local library. My granddaughter started weekly tutoring with Ren the beginning of January 2020. Ren provided in-person tutoring for a couple of weeks until the pandemic closed everything down. We continued with online tutoring for as many as four sessions a week. Ren is extremely knowledgeable and bright, as well as patient, compassionate and understanding. My granddaughter looks forward to sessions with him, and Ren continues to provide online tutoring sessions to us despite being across the country and while my granddaughter is back in public school.
