I go to this United location for one reason:it's close to my apartment. Nothing is being done to ensure shopper or employee safety during the COVID-19 Pandemic; people walk around sans mask and employees do nothing. Of course what would you expect from employees who have no clue how to bag groceries? If a person doesn't have the sense not to place household chemicals in w/food, they shouldn't be doing the job. And they have some seriously rude employees and shoppers. I guess here no one is taught the phrase, "excuse me". And that's coming from a New Yorker. Prices are so-so. I've found grass fed/organic foods cheaper at Natural Grocers and toiletries cheaper at Target. The facility itself is clean, but kept dark/dull. They have an okay selection of both food and non-food products. The store's pharmacy employees don't pay any attention to the lines, allow patients to stand and wait and while someone cuts in line; they basically refuse to acknowledge you, if you're waiting patiently in line. The pharmacy employees don't bother to call when your medication is ready, to be picked up. Honestly, there are much better places to shop even in Lubbock.
This is an update from my previous review. Today, 10/25/2020 I decided to give online ordering a try (The weather makes me feel sluggish and tired, so I didn't want to go into the store). I was notified about my pick up time a bit earlier, than anticipated which is a good thing! But when I got to the pick up location, the associate told me that a substitution was made; I asked which item, she stated it was the Beyond meat product. I asked why I wasn't notified and she made the excuse that they were swamped, that they had lost people...etc. There should be no excuse...stores are constantly swamped, when I lost my mom I was still at work. I'm sorry for the many losses, but you still have a job to do. She failed to tell me that most of the items had been substituted and that the bag of spinach was rotten. In regards to the Beyond meat product, I told her that I didn't want to be an inconvenience and I honestly didn't care about the substitute for that particular product. When I got home to check the products, I found that the daily less cheese was not the cheddar I had ordered, I received soy chicken and not the tofurkey I had ordered, the spinach was rotten. I had to go back to the store and gave the items, to the customer service associate...no I did not wait for a refund, as I just wanted to get home. I went back and found the products-the correct tofurkey was in stock, as was the Beyond product I had ordered, I found a different dairy less cheddar product and a bag of spinach that wasn't rotten. If you're not going to do the job correctly and just make excuses for not wanting to do the job, then step aside and allow someone who appreciates having...
Read moreI called in earlier, wanting to know why I did not initially receive a carry out, I spoke withe a "manager" by the name of Amy, who stated she would call back in 10-15mis (approx 1P). I waited roughly two hours, before calling back and was first told that their video footage showed me looking at dishware. I made the "manager" aware that I had not gone to look at dishware and asked why the footage would show me doing so. Amy then stated that she had only reviewed the footage of my register transaction and that I had told the manager at the register, that I was looking at the dishware. There are a few things wrong with this...1.) There was no manager at the register; a cashier and a bagger. 2.) While the cashier stated something about electronic stamps redeemable for cookware, I made the cashier, at the register aware that I had no interest. 3.) I was retrieving my keys, from my handbag and to my knowledge the bagger was following me, for the carryout. Upon reaching my vehicle, I discovered that the bagger was not behind me and was nowhere in sight. Instead of reviewing the footage, as the "manager" was allegedly doing, they relied on what the cashier and bagger told them...their response was "okay", to everything...not, "I'm sorry about that, our bagger wasn't paying attention and should have been watching the direction, in which you were headed and because they dropped the ball, they weren't able to keep up". Another excuse was that their bagger wasn't done bagging. They appeared done and had been following me, as I was leaving the store. I have asked the "manager" to watch the footage in its entirety, to be sure that she understands that I did not go look at dishware, as she kept repeating that I had told the manager at the register, that I was looking at dishware. Basically, this "manager" is telling me that I'm lying and didn't have the evidence to support her claim. Please do not blame your customers, if your staff can't bag quickly and refuse to...
Read morePrior to last week, I did my shopping, bill paying, etc. at this United Supermarket location. I went into this store last week, to have some copies made of documents I needed. All the United Supermarkets in Lubbock, Texas make copies for 10 cents a copy, so that is what I expected to pay, at this location. I had 11 pages that I needed to make copies of, which should have cost me $1.10 . When the young man at the service desk had finished making my copies , he rang up my purchase, and turned to me, and said that I owed him $12.00, for the copies. I immediately questioned the figure he quoted me, and he turned to a young lady standing there beside him, to verify the cost he quoted me; I spoke up and told them both that all of the other United Supermarkets in Lubbock, charge 10 cents per copy . The young lady looked at him, and was shaking her head no, so I told her that I have had copies made at other United Supermarkets , all over Lubbock, and never pay more than 10cents per copy. The young man said is that he would take some off of the $12.00 price he had quoted me, so I honestly thought that he was going to charge me the 10 cents per copy that the other United Supermarket locations charge. Well, that didnât happen, he still charged me $4.00 , for those 11 copies. I was absolutely stunned, and angry at he same time, so I just paid the $4.00, gathered my copies and left . I realize that this might not sound like a lot of money to some people, but I am a senior citizen, living on a fixed income, and every penny counts. I am very disappointed in the way this United Supermarket does business, and how they donât oversee what goes on at the Customer Service desk. Although this particular location has always been very convenient for me, due to the fact that I live close by, I will not do business here anymore, and I will not recommend this particular store to anyone. If a could give less than 1 star , would...
