We looked at several bakeries for our babies 2nd birthday cake after having issues with a different bakery last year we decided to go with simply decadent bakery bc of all the positive reviews. We took in an inspiration photo of a baby shark cake, we emailed them the picture, talked to a woman there who took down all the notes for what flavors we wanted and how we wanted the cake. We gave her the spelling of our babies name, I told her it didn't have to look exactly like the picture after all we asked for a two tiered cake not three. I let her know the top of the cake should have at least the yellow baby shark bc it was going to be for our baby. The total was $160.00 which is what we paid for up front. We went in three weeks ahead of time, they told us it'd be ready. When my boyfriend got to the bakery the day of pick up, they told him they were putting the final touches on the cake, when they gave him the cake they wrapped it up in two cake boxes with plastic wrap for security. They didn't show him the cake before hand, I was extremely disappointed with what the cake looked like, i wanted to love the cake but look at the photos and compare them for yourself. It looked like there was a big whale on top of the cake instead of a shark, they didn't decorate the back of the cake, they didn't even add my daughters name on the cake, after I gave them the spelling of it & she wrote it down as she was taking the notes. When we cut into the cake all the smaller pieces of fondant were being held by toothpicks! Nobody warned us abt this & this is the first time ever seen fondant being held with toothpicks, it's usually done with the frosting, so I had to tell the parents after handing out the cake that there was toothpicks in it to make sure the kids didn't bite into them or hurt themselves, the details on the cake were horrible. The cake was NOT worth $160 especially bc it looked nothing like what we asked. The taste was ok but it looked like they literally put the cake together in a few hours. Maybe all the great reviews are for simple looking cakes, but the cake that was made for our daughters 2nd birthday was not put together well. Avoid this bakery unless you want a really simple cake, I will try to attach pictures of the cake we emailed to them and the cake we received so everyone can see what a horrible job was done...
Read moreEdit: Our 2nd time ordering and cake was wonderful. However our experience wasn't as great due to misinformation and lack of communication when placing the order. Please make sure it gets well explained of what exactly you are ordering, and that you understand how you're getting charged for what on the custom order so that there are no surprises. Other than that, I still recommend them and will keep my original review because both cakes were delicious. Thank you.
Absolutely decadent! First of all thank you so much for making a last minute cake order happen! Still being fairly new to town, I didn't know where to acquire a decent cake, no references whatsoever and our event was planned last minute as well. So glad I found Simply Decadent, they were very polite, understanding and helpful. Very busy but now I understand why because our cake was so delicious!
I ordered a 9" round cake; marbled. It was so good it kinda tasted like cookies and cream ice cream, yum! The icing was not too heavy like other buttercreams, it was light and fluffy, and not extremely sugary. Cake was light and moist.
I highly recommend them. I will definitely be ordering from them in the future, with adequate notice time of...
Read moreMy husband and 3 year-old son went to Simply Decadent Bakery a few days ago and purchased some cupcakes for Halloween. Halloween is our son’s very favorite holiday & he was getting so excited for it to almost be here- and the cupcakes were the highlight of his little day that day. My husband then took him up to his work to finish up things for the day. On the way inside, our son dropped the box of cupcakes on the ground and they all fell out. :( As you can imagine, his little heart was broken. They went back to the bakery to buy more a little bit later. When they got to the doors, they were locked and then my husband realized that it had just closed for the day. So again, his little heart was broken. At that moment, an Employee open the door and asked if they could help. My husband told them what had happened and they remembered them coming in a little earlier. The employees put together another box of Halloween cupcakes for our son and gave it to them at no cost. This was truly an example of amazing customer service and really saved the day for a three-year-old little boy. Thank you to the amazing ladies that were there that day. We are beyond...
