UPDATE..... Jeff owner of Mattress Max, what you put in your rebuttle to my claim is half truths! I m a 70 year old that was lied to by your people, I have a text from your Tec Manager who told me he could clearly see what l was seeing in the chair, now you have gotten him to lie, and say everything looked good to him and Clearance also a tec manager l see is no longer with you! I never made threats to you only your store practices, on social media, that is NOT illegal!........(End of update)...I bought a recliner chair, l picked it up brought it home and sit in it. I couldn't get comfortable, l thought maybe it needed to get a little broke in. I realized l wasn't going to be able to sit in this chair, something wasn't right. Upon really inspecting the chair l could tell the chair frame is warped or bent. I called them about an exchange or return, they sent a technician (Travis) to see what the problem was. He said upon inspecting he could see what l was saying, he even took a picture and said he could tell it very good on the picture he took, he said some one would call me the next day. (Clearance called me the next day and said he talked with the manufacturer and they don't see anything wrong, but he would talk to the owner the next day. The owner (Jeff) called me and said in no uncertain terms he would not take the chair back! To fix this he said l should come and pick out another chair and he would discount it $150.00, so he was saying "pick out another chair for $1000, and keep the one l just bought, he will not take it back" so l would owe $1850.00, for both chairs, one can't be fixed. One of the owners (Jeff) don't want the chair, l sure don't want the chair. So l hope whoever buys from Mattress Max makes sure it is what you want.    Read moreWhen I went in to look for a recliner for my rotary cuff surgery I was very pleased with the service and with Dale everyone in there was super nice. I have been trying to break in the recliner because I have to sleep in it for a few weeks and it has did something to my back so now I have a back issues. I know it’s not the store‘s fault or mine but at least have could’ve worked with me but I called waiting now for them not to respond and nothing only saying the owner can only make the decision so I didn’t even get to talk to anybody about a refund or maybe exchanging for another one so I’m just stuck in more pain so I’ll have to cancel my surgery for my shoulder because now I can’t not even use the recliner I bought. Just very disappointed in the lack of communication seems like it’s only about the mighty dollar but this world we live in nothing surprises me. Be aware before you purchase something. Money isn’t free some of use work for it and I paid cash of my hard saved money. Yes you did call me back after closing today and said I could call you back on Thursday but after publicizing this and then you wanna say that I was talking bad and trying to say anything bad about your company I actually stated everybody was super nice other people have health issues as well and the recliner was not New when I purchased they had a receipt in the arm of the recliner had been purchased prior to me purchasing it and they had also returned it so what is the difference? We knew that we did not want to shop at any of the big furniture stores here in Greenville SC. After googling surrounding furniture stores in the area, then visiting 2 others first, most definitely not enjoying our experience, we walked into Matress Max. I wasn’t holding out much hope. We were met with a warm smile by Connie Stephens. I told her of our needs, she pointed us in the right direction, but didn’t hover over us the way some sales people do. She gave us time to browse before reaching out to us. When she did come around, we told her that I needed a good quality, comfortable recliner and as soon as possible as I was going to have a knee replacement. As we knew nothing about decorating and how to put things together to make them work with what we already had, she made several good suggestions, gave us some good information and helped us reach a decision. From beginning to end, Connie was kind and helpful and made our shopping experience very pleasurable! The store itself had plenty of good selections and we felt the pricing was reasonable!
