Food Lion — Local services in Lynchburg

I've been shopping at this store for over 20 years and while it has changed over that time, the good customer service has remained. The staff is always helpful and friendly, especially folks in the the deli. The store has a good selection, although I have noticed they have quit selling certain brands (example: Buddig thin sliced lunch meat pouches and Food Lion brand premium canned soups. Also I wish they had more diabetic friendly Food Lion brand products. One more area that needs to be addressed is the managment allowing people to prowl the parking lot asking customers for money as we enter and exit. That needs to be addressed. I go to this store a lot, and I love the managers special on meat. However today I went to the checkout line where the cashier was checking out someone else so I put my groceries to be rung up next and patiently waited my turn. After I finished getting all my groceries out of the buggy and placing them the cashier said I'm going to 5 and walks away... I had to put all my groceries back in my buggy and went to the next cashier as he came back and stood. I understand things happen but why was I not told before I got everything out of my buggy, or maybe an apology, or help loading my groceries back in my buggy. The produce is horrid. I gave it a chance multiple times because this store is on the way to my mom's where I pick up my child at times, and it's convenient. Sad, sad, sad. A bag of apples that tasted like mold--I had to throw away. Rotten tomatoes and then this lemon I tossed in my cart only to find had rotted when I got home--same day.

One elderly couple was coughing and hacking so badly all over the produce section and their cart full of groceries that a manager finally asked them to leave. This was during our Commonwealth's mask mandate. They never enforced it and this has been my observation in other local Food...
