Toller's Appliance Repair — Local services in Lynchburg

Contacted Frigidaire for a warranty issue and was given Tollers as the service provider for my area.

My assistant called and explained that the pump had gone out on our 9 month old dishwasher and needed replaced. Gave the exact model number and serial number, she was told that the part had to be ordered and would not be there until Saturday. My assistant explained that I had a family of 6 and the sooner they could get out there the better. She was told there was a possibility he could come Saturday between noon and 4 but it wasn't a certainty but that he would call either way and that if he didn't make it Saturday he would be here Monday morning.

As a result we did not make any plans for our family Saturday in anticipation that he may be coming. Saturday came and we never got a phone call from anyone. Understanding of the fact that Saturday was only a maybe we were not upset but still would have appreciated a call so we could have made other plans.

So this morning (Monday) he comes and my wife lets him in and shows him to the kitchen. He inspects the machine and tells us we need a new pump, she explains we were already aware of this and we had been waiting on him to have it delivered so he could install it today. He tells her this is the first he knew of needing a pump.

My wife came and got me and explained the dilemma. I came in and asked him what the issue was and he repeated he was not aware of the pump until he got there. I explained that we had waited almost a week for the pump to come in, that was the entire purpose of his visit was to install the pump that he had to have delivered. He insisted that nobody had ever told him that we needed a pump.

Now maybe I could have chosen better words but I was not rude when I said it. I simply told him that was bullshit, that we had absolutely made it abundantly clear we needed the pump and that was the whole reason we had to wait a week for him to come.

Apparently he did not like this interpretation of the facts. He pulled a "give me my ball back, I don't want to play anymore" act and said he was leaving. I asked him how we was just going to leave when he has had us wait for a week for him to even come. His response. "That's not my problem."

Being that I live in a rural area, he is the only service provider in my area. He has now told Frigidaire that he refuses to come back. So now I am left to pay for my own repair as Frigidaire cannot get someone else out to my hose for almost two weeks. If this guy would have just done his job in the first place there never would have been an issue.

Upon further research my assistant found that this guy has bad reviews all over the place. The professional I hired later today said that guys who do warranty work are guys who can't get business on their own merit. It is low paying low hanging fruit and the installers that do that work are not typically very good or they would not have to do warranty work.

Really makes you re-think about paying for extended warranties when you know you are going to get second tier service men to do the work. Or in this case, not...

I wouldn't even give them one star if that option was available. I have a washer purchased from Lowes and Toller was scheduled to come out. The washer will continuously cycle and never shut off. Toller came out and "fix" it and told my daughter everything was fine. Mind you, she had to drive 30 minutes away to open the door and be here when they arrived. I put a load in when I got home from work. Noticed something odd when I turned it on. My machine will automatically be on the last cycle setting it was on when turned off. It was on spin,hmmm. ( this is the setting you have to use to drain the water and spin it out if you didn't catch it after the normal cycle). I assume that is what he did to look like it worked correctly. Needless to say the machine still was messed up. I had called multiply times and gotten no call backs. Lowes rescheduled and never heard from them or seen them for their appointment. Lowes will hopefully get rid off these clowns and let them fix the amish machine which is probably to technical for them...

Showed up quickly to diagnose, I had to prod them to return after ordering part. After repair the washer sounded like a diesel motor. He said it needed a belt and would order. After multiple calls I scrapped the washer because they didn’t respond. Thought I would give them a second chance they quickly came out and diagnosed the dishwasher said they were going to order a part and Guess What same scenario can’t seem to get them to call me back. I wish i got as quick of a response to my calls as this google review! A. I have called and spoken to someone multiple times, they said someone would call me back. you have my correct # just aren't calling back. Why wasn't i told at the time of the call that it would be 6-8 weeks as that was not told to the person at the house. B. You cant be paid when the work isn't completed. You never brought the belt and no magnet was ever on our door or...
