We launched our kayaks from here. A little ruff getting the kayaks down the aluminum steps that go down into the water but we made it. As you enter the parking area the launch is to the left and circles back around to the gravel parking area. There was a port a John there. No parking on the loop. Wish parking was a little closer but hey it's free. We paddled down past the bridge to see the Gainer group-Emerald, Bluff & McCormick Springs. The water wasn't to swift so we were able to paddle back up to the public launch. Always check the water levels and conditions. Pitt & Sylvan Springs is just up from here but we opted to load up and drive to the entrance of Pitt. You can also drive to Williford Spring near the Econfina Livery. Paddling back up was a good workout but doable if you are in good shape and water levels are good. We have used the Econfina livery before as a launch & paddled all the way to the second bridge pickup. That was a really long trip. All day and after the last spring there isn't anything but creek for about 6miles. It's at least a 4 hour trip from the livery. We opted to try this launch and paddle back up. We reached the springs in about 15 min. We were able to stay at the springs as long as we wanted and didn't have to wait or worry about being picked up or...
Read moreDrop into boat from floating aluminum dock. Long well built walkway to carry boats and gear from the circular drive off the parking lot by entrance. There is a ramp from walkway to floating dock. The current has been strongest next to the dock so you must cautiously enter boat from above. The first set of Springs is past the bridge and turn right. It's easy to miss the entrance until you're past it. Private property surrounding the group of Springs but easy to swim. Great place to see wild and aquatic life if you're alone and it's a weekday...
Read moreWhat a great place to launch my kauak and get to experience that beautiful springs surrounding this specific location in the econfina creek. I recommend those bringing kayaks to bring a cart as the walk from boardwalk to water accesa is a bit long for a single person to walk their kayak. Other than that it is a great facility. Beware only portatoilets facilities at...
