Hannaford — Local services in Madawaska

Excellent service. Very kind, helpful staff. Can't beat the part where they bag your groceries and take them out to the car! Awesome!

Edit: sadly, since Hannaford acquired the store, they no longer take out your groceries. That makes me really sad. It was a great service. :-( Also, I've learned the corporate policy is to rotate items out. The moral of this story is a new favorite product is... no longer carried. That makes me pretty mad. Actually, really angry. Why try a new product in this store? DON'T. Don't do it. It's a trap.

Hannaford raised prices, cut services, and does this really crappy practice with regard to stock. If I had another option, I'd be outta there.

Edited again: store looks good. But. I still miss having my groceries taken out. And they still brings products in for a few months before cycling out. Prices are high everywhere, but Hannaford started out raising prices, so who knows what's really behind the constant escalation of prices? Maybe they should focus LESS on EXPENSIVE ready-to-prepare convenience items. I'd still pick another store if I could.

Still sticking...

Went shopping here recently. Couldn't help but notice how vulgar some of the employees are. The occasional cuss word or sparky remark about so and so. No regard for customers who clearly could here it. Pretty unprofessional. I'd expect it from young kids but grown adults - sheesh. One thing that really caught my attention was a remark an older "gentleman" made about his work duties. "I'm not doing that, I'll leave it for so and so when he gets here after my shift." I almost said something, but held my tongue. How any manager or higher up allows this kind of behavior from their employees is beyond me. Reminded me of high school gossip when we'd stand in the hallway huddled In groups. Seems like most of the employees never evolved from the high school mindset....

I made a quick Dash across the border, looking for items I cannot get in Canada. I went away with three bags of goods, although they did not have the dark chocolate mint M&M's door bead dark chocolate peanut M&Ms. The cash register attendant was very friendly and helpful. One of the begging people loaded by products onto a tall metal cart and escorted me to buy car and put everything in my truck. Search customer service is rare to find these days. He was polite and struck up a small conversation. I made sure to tip them before he left. I will definitely be back put my next visit...
