The Groveport Recreation Center is the best. My husband uses the workout area almost daily and has nothing but good to say about the people in the workout area but he says the people at the front desk are rude and always look like they are having a bad day they donāt smile or say hi. They do nothing but sit at front desk area. He feels during slow periods they could take turns walking around talking to people and picking up checking to make sure everything is ok. The manager also never comes out of the office, he or she could also do a periodic walk around every once a while. We take our grandkids to the pools or gym etc. they love it. I have learned to go to the pool as soon as it opens and you will have a great time before the pool gets crowded then we are usually ready to leave by 4:00 pm and donāt have any problems. I also reserve party rooms or the log cabin covered shelter free and they are fantastic. Main reason I am giving 5 stars is the free use of party rooms and log cabin cabin shelter, thank you. Also Thank you Seth for helping me so quickly to get the firewood moved. My family will enjoy the log cabin shelter this Saturday and I couldnāt have gotten a better place for our reunion. I would give 10 stars if I could. Everyone have been very helpful and all of the facilities are clean and pretty well maintained. Groveport really tries to takes care of the facilities and outside with an eye to the future for our community. Great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely do not recommend this place. I canāt stand a place that makes it difficult to enjoy their services. Our address is in Groveport, but were told that weāre not in the resident area, so we had to pay non-resident fees. The application for a 30 day pass is like signing a mortgage. It seriously took 20 minutes of paperwork for us to get in the door (with a screaming toddler no less and no sympathy from the 16 year old at the counter). Though we live together, I havenāt updated the address on my license yet, so we could not get the family pass. The guy says ādo you have a bill or something that proves you live together?ā Oh yeah, let me go grab the mail from my car that I brought to the pool. We finally got in and were able to stay for about 15 minutes because of the aforementioned screaming toddler. I realize thatās not their fault, but the 20 minute sign in process didnāt help. We came back just now (a couple weeks later) only to be told they donāt open until 12:30 on Sundayās. It would be great if that were listed somewhere, anywhere on their website. I couldnāt find it. And if I have to look really hard for your hours of operation, thatās defeating the purpose.
Summary: We just wanted to have a good time, but instead were treated like we were trying to enter Fort Knox. I get that there are rules but perhaps a review of those rules and policies...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWill never have another birthday party here again. First off you pay $250 to have the party and they ask you what theme you want. I am assuming they are going to have paper plate and cups to match but no just an ice cream cake with a little bit of the theme on it. Ours was the flower them so you get two icing flowers on your cake. Nothing else in the entire room is flowers and you can't bring any balloons. Then it stormed most of the party. To allow the kids to play in the gym I had to cough up an additional $60 even though the pool was closed! The lady that was in charge runs it like freakin drill sargeant. There was one young man there that was actually nice and cleared out one gym for us to play dodge ball in. She wanted our little kids to share the hoops with grown men playing an aggressive game of basket ball! Finally an hour before the party ended the pool opened and at least we had the pool to ourselves and got an extra hour tacked onto our party for paying over $300 I think we deserved at least that much. We couldn't even hang out in the party room because drill sargeant Judy came in and told us to wrap it up people and stood there while we got our crap out of the room! Save your money and just have a party somewhere else and then just go to the pool it's definitely not worth the money...
