Reny's Department Store — Local services in Madison

I am giving this store 0 stars. This is not the first negative interaction I have had with this store. The staff is unknowledgeable and does no extra to go above and beyond for paying customers. The first time, I was ordered the wrong item. The second time I went to purchase an item, and there was a hole in the armpit, went to return this item with receipt in hand- and was denied and accused to damaging this item myself (within 24 hrs.) This time- Ordered a pair of boots- came in 3 sizes too big, went in store- did not have the boot present, was informed I would get a phone call when they were displayed later that week. No phone call. Came back in- Boots were present, not the correct size- Ordered them in store that day and was informed they would be back in store within 2-3 days...7 days go by. No phone call, no boots. 9 days go by, I call -Horrible customer service and I get told they are currently unloading a truck and do not have time to look right now and to call back in a couple hours...how unprofessional. Calls back a couple hours later, gets told they don't have them. No corresponding information. Calls back the following day to speak with someone who hopefully will be helpful, gets transferred three times before speaking with the right person. Gets to speak with a lady, whom was kind, had absolutely no answers for me. Finally, I ask to speak with a manager that was fine to speak with, says that they will look into this and call the manufacturer. I get no call back. We are at now over 4 weeks..... I called again, no answer- says she will call me back tomorrow. Calls me back, and as i expected- "they will not fulfill this order they didn't give me a reason why' This is the third negative experience I have had. I spend a lot of money here, and they've officially lost my business and recommendation. Do not recommended. Save your time and go elsewhere- Also, don't expect good customer service, no effort is put into. Absolutely...

Nice store with many departments and items. Many items are not as high quality as they appear, though. Examples include socks with the word "WOOL" in big letters across the packaging, but the fine print indicates it's only 15% wool. Their large bags of beef jerky are imported by a company in Wisconsin who will not disclose what country the beef actually comes from.

I love coming to renys here in Madison. Often I go to renys to browse and end up finding many good deals. Especially on specialty foods such as the canned escargot (which still isn't carried at Hannaford by the way) and the big bags of mini snack sausages. Yum. I love the different soaps and candy.
