Dollar General — Local services in Mahanoy City

Poor cashier training. I was behind 5 people waiting on an elderly man. Who the cashier repeated loud enough for me to hear from pretty far away “ your declined, still declined” over n over. A manager rang the other 4 people and me out. While the elderly man removed one item at a time repeating sorry I’m useless I’m just a big loser each time he was declined. He gets down to just his dog food and he says I can’t leave with out at least this and tries multiple cards. I offered to pay for him and his several different cards weren’t being “declined” it said clearly chip malfunction for my card too. So I ran my card 3 times ignoring the cashier giving improper instructions. It tells you what to do right on the screen. The man is not useless he wasn’t a loser. It was very sad to listen to and I wish I told them off but really they don’t deserve that either they need to be...

I stood in line with one person in front of me who happened to be someone to cash your new that one person made such a big deal about a dollar coupon I was there for over 10 minutes file he punched his phone number in seven times. And the only reason he was allowed to do that was cuz he was their friend with the cashier but when other people go there and a problems with the digital coupons that never work that same cashier does not want to be bothered with it I will be going back to this Dollar General again. And it's a shame because most of the other ones that work there...

Everytime I went there they we're very pleasant. If you couldn't find anything they were very nice to help you look or point you in the right direction. They have a public bathroom, they have clothing, toys, some electronics, grocery and items for babies...
