White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church — Local services in Mahtomedi

I grew up going to First Universalist Church of Minneapolis in Minneapolis. While it is not the same it is a close comparison. They use the same hymnals. I really feel at home here. My children are attending the religious education program. I enjoy hearing sermons by Reverend Victoria Sanford and Reverend Luke. Both keep the messages easy to understand and try and relate to things going on. One thing I really love about this religion is they aren't so stuck in the past telling stories about what happened hundreds of thousands of years ago. They can talk about whats going on now and how can we try and make it better. The music is beautiful. It was also at this very church where Reverend Luke gave a sermon and when he was done came down from the podium and picked up a guitar and played and sang a song for the congregation. Liberal activist meeting center that is NOT Bible based. This is a political organization..not a church. Equity, diversity somehow = strength, "dismantling institutional racism", and plenty of other liberal talking points are on their website. WOW. In Matthew 7, Jesus talked about those who would deceive in his name.. and that without a genuine relationship with him rejection would come on judgment day. "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits"...

Best Pastors, best people, best church I've ever been to in my entire life of 63 years. Welcoming, inclusive, social awareness, outstanding music from outstanding musicians. It feels free from all hatred and prejudice. Looking forward to diving into this congregation to be an intrical part of something bigger...
