Aloha advertises themselves as a surf camp, yet campers are only able to surf with an instructor and there are maybe 3 instructors for all campers (however our kids who are very honest said it was even worse—a huge line just to surf 1 wave per kid), so if you do the math, it's not great. I emailed with a complaint and they took almost a year to get back to me and are now saying that since it's been a year they can't refund me. But it was only a year because they failed to get back to me. Our kids were miserable at camp, said all the other activities were pretty lame, and the bus ride, that Aloha said was packed with activities, in fact, had zero activities. They offered complimentary days but this is of no help as our kids would never want to return. Would not recommend. In response: Surfing was absolutely not a brief wait, how could it be a brief wait when there are only 3 instructors for the whole camp and campers are not permitted to surf without an instructor? Also, see attached for the email I wrote in July 2024 that they just ignored. My intent was to provide feedback so Aloha could offer a solution, but I guess ignoring emails like these is their protocol.

My sons maxi and Julian Gupta have been attending this camp this summer ! First off so amazing for them to get out of the valley heat in the summer and being in nature around other kids has been a wonderful experience for them ! One of our sons is on spectrum and has been having a great day every day he goes. Fun arts and crafts take place when they are not in the water and my son loved the metal detector search

As a parent whose daughter has been attending this camp in Malibu, California, for three consecutive years, I feel compelled to share my glowing review. This camp has truly been a transformative experience for my child, providing her with unforgettable memories and invaluable life skills. First and foremost, the location itself is a dream come true. Nestled in the stunning coastal paradise of Malibu, the camp offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and miles of pristine beaches. The natural beauty of the surroundings sets the perfect backdrop for a summer filled with adventure and exploration. One of the highlights of this camp is its focus on surfing. My daughter has developed a genuine passion for riding the waves, thanks to the expert instruction provided by the camp's experienced surf coaches. Not only has she learned the fundamentals of surfing, but she has also gained confidence and resilience in the water. Beyond surfing, the camp offers a diverse range of activities that cater to every interest and passion. From beach volleyball tournaments to sandcastle building competitions, there is never a dull moment at camp. My daughter has had the opportunity to try new things, make lifelong friends, and create memories that will last a lifetime. What truly sets this camp apart is its sense of community and camaraderie. The staff members are dedicated, enthusiastic, and genuinely care about the well-being of each camper. They go above and beyond to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to be themselves. Additionally, the camp organizes exciting trips and excursions that allow campers to explore the beauty and diversity of the Malibu area and beyond. In summary, I cannot speak highly enough of this camp in Malibu. It has been a cornerstone of my daughter's summer experiences, fostering her love for the outdoors, building her confidence, and creating cherished memories that she will carry with her for years to come. If you're looking for a camp that combines fun, adventure, and personal growth, look no further than this gem in...

LOVE this camp, so I'm going to review this to address any parent concerns, because your kids will love it. Aloha Beach camp is one of the safest, most fun camps around in LA. My daughter has been going off and on since she was 8 and is now a tween...I'm sure she'll want to keep going through her mid-teen years. Every year, she asks me if she can go again. She has a blast in the water...favorite activity? Body surfing. This year, she's keen on surfing.

The counselors are terrific and make the bus ride to camp and back fun as well. Even the shyest of kids will make friends with counselors that are proactive socializers. If your child is more comfortable on the shore than in the water, the day is filled with beach activities as well. Kids are water-tested and everyone starts at ankles and only move up to next level when the counselors are 100% sure the child is ready. Water zones are cordoned off with counselors stationed at all strategic water points to keep kids safe. Sunscreen applied religiously.

The buses are comfortable with a lot of convenient drop-off and pick up spots & times, so you don't have to worry if you are a valley dweller. Buses don't leave drop-off until the last child is picked up and your child will sleep like a log.

The owner, Eric, is approachable, friendly, and quick to answer parent questions -- everything from water safety to earthquake/wildfire protocols...so, yes, I trust them with my child. If you have a chance to go to an open house, it is a great way to meet Eric and the gang. During camp months, email is better way to communicate than a phone call since everyone is at the beach with the kids.

The other thing that I really like is that you can send your kid for 1 day or 30 and they are taken care of with the same care every day on every occasion. A very flexible operation that fits in well with the craziness of LA lifestyle. My daughter has enjoyed beach days, lake days and party days...all fab.

The camp posts pics on FB and on their website and keep in touch throughout the year (but not too much). I wish I were a kid so I could go! Yup...I'm...

I sent my 6 and 8 year old boys to Aloha Beach Camp for the past 3 years and they love it! It’s the only camp they want to go to and look forward to summer of 2016. They have so many fun activities on the beach! My 6 year old attended Keiki Camp at Paradise Cove, where he learned the importance of water/ ocean safety, boogie boarding, surfing and a variety of beach games – It's so nice to find a camp that allows kids to explore at their own pace.

My 8 year old attends Kahuna Camp – the camp puts an emphasis on teaching the kids the importance of water/ocean safety. Camp Aloha also has exceptional activities such as kayaking in Channel Islands Harbor / BBQ cookouts in Oxnard Beach Park and Wednesday trips to Castaic Lake where they go boating, jet skiing, tubing & learn to wakeboard. He is looking forward to one day to be a CIT at Aloha!

The Director Eric is on site all day long and interacts with the campers to make sure that they have a great experience. He is always a text/ phone call away if you need anything. The counselors are amazing as well, and they are CPR and Lifeguard Approved. They were very organized, and will always tell you how the kid’s day went. The camp is also very secure. They always asked for my ID at pick up! The communication between the camp and parents is great!

A few reasons why my kids & I love Aloha Beach Camp:

If you sign up between 9/1 to 9/30 and depending how many you request you will get a great discount, & if any plans change between now and May – they refund all your money!

Eric and his team are very big on the importance of water/ ocean safety & plenty of shade at the beach & applying sunscreen is a biggie as well-

Camp Aloha does not charge an extra fee for using their transportation! VERY SAFE BUSES! The counselors are great about making sure kids are always wearing their seat belts. & they are flexible about day to day sign up.

Living in California it’s important for my kids to be comfortable at the ocean – I am proud of the camp for showing & teaching them the importance of ocean safety and a love for the ocean and...
