Dollar General — Local services in Manchester

The store was a mess. Stock everywhere. I saw two ladies appear to be trying to put the stock up but... I shop other DG in the surroundings area and none ever look like this one. The cashier stepped out after checking myself and the gentlemen behind me and then stepped outside the door and right at the door fired up a cigarette. I use to smoke but now can not stand the smell of smoke. He was keeping an eye on register and once someone appeared just laid cigarette on the bricks. Did not put cigarette out. I usually never complain but I know if the other DG's can keep their stores clean and don't smoke at the door so...

They never answer the phone you have to make an unnecessary trip to their store in order to see if they have a product in stock...the store is very crowded with gates that contain broken down boxes in them and pallets with products that could possibly be stocked on shelves that have missing items...that could be something that I’m looking for when I try to call and have to drive all the way to the store to find out they don’t have it on the shelves! Do better Dollar General with all the new staff that has been hired it seems like some type of improvement would...

This company needs self checkouts. If you’re only going to pay one person to do everything then they should be able to just stock and not have to stop to check out customers. I was just in there and a woman held up a long line and the second employee opens a second register and doesn’t bother to ask who was next. That would have been me. Instead another line forms and I’m there w my one item having been skipped. So I threw it down and took my business elsewhere. TRAIN THESE PEOPLE! Stop trying to enforce modern slavery by paying minimum wage workers to do...
