We have tried many brands of BBQ pellets with a range of results. Trying to get as close to a stick burner for smoke penetration and flavor can be a big challenge. The first time we fired up our pellet smoker with Manchester Barbecue Pellets, we could immediately smell the difference. Using only Hickory, Oak, Maple, & Cherry without the use of lower end "fillers" or added "flavors" like some of the other brands, it was a clear difference in the smell of the smoke. One benefit we did not expect was the clear decrease in pellet consumption while using the smoker. As we always look to keep our fuel prices under control, we think we are getting better value from some of the larger bags of big name pellets. Read moreI got my first bag of Manchester Barbecue Pellets a little over a week ago. I had high expectations as in doing my research, I found that some of the folks using Manchester Barbecue pellets were taking home some championship wins and placing very high in many categories on the professional circuit. Well they did not disappoint. I’m the guy that buys 100% pellets of my favorite varieties of smoking woods. I mix to the cook and feel like I’m getting the best out of my smoker by being able to do my own competition mixes. These pellets are high quality, nice clean smoking , flavorful pellets. I used these on pork , turkey as well as chicken and could pick up on a definite uptick in the wood flavor profile and clean flavors. It wasn’t over powering anywhere. Well balanced smoke flavor. I definitely will be purchasing and keeping a stock of these pellets. They are definitely good choice for many...
Read moreI waited to write this review because I wanted to smoke a few things with these pellets so it could be an honest review. That being said, I have now done steaks, chuck roast, ribs, chicken wings and drumsticks! These pellets are up there with the best of the best in the Pellet smoker industry in my opinion, they give phenomenal color to the meats. All of them! They burn hot, they last long and the flavor is so good!!! I used to use lumberjack pellets as my go to pellet and I would have to stock up whenever I could find them available, but I now have seven bags of Manchester pellets in my basement. I have used Traeger pellets, Bear Mountain pellets, pit boss pellet, Cabelas pellets, lumber jack pellets, knotty wood pellets and more but I now have a new go to pellet. The bark I got on my ribs was the best yet. They have it...
