This place isn’t about the hobby. Only cater to a small amount of what you need. If you need rc car items look elsewhere. Owner flat out said he can’t carry anything of the sort because it isn’t worth his time and money. The rc car hobby is massive and using the excuse that Traxxas made a deal with Amazon as to why you won’t carry any of these items is just sad. The whole selling factor of a brick and mortar shop is being able to pick up what you want when you want it. We will pay the higher prices to have it now. But you don’t have this option here.
Since I posted this I have had the owner call me personally and leave a voicemail regarding this review. Asking me to speak with him man to man. Sorry sir I am not willing to discuss the short comings of this shop as it isnt worth my time. Also to compare or use stores such as Walmart target ect and how they don’t cary these parts so why should you is one of worst excuses. Those are retail shops, not a shop designated for Hobby specific items. And yes people do buy their rc cars from other places because you guys don’t have anything that even a basic hobbiest needs to start themselves out. I know how rc people are. We love to support our local shops while paying the higher price. As long as a hobby shop has what you need you will always be going back. You guy don’t want to do that and hey it’s not my business. This place will close...
Read moreI’ve been going here on and off for years, never once have I been greeted when I walk in. The store is a cluttered disorganized mess, and their selection, while maybe in the store, is in various cardboard boxes, making finding anything other than rc parts from 20+ years ago impossible. This place seems to be surviving on shipped and online orders, which is fine, but they seem to not care about in person customers whatsoever. In a time where hobby shops are dying left and right, you’d think the staff would be a little more helpful to keep their jobs. I feel really bad saying this about a local business, but their customer service is just not there, and the store is a mess.
I think you misread my review. I was referring to the fact that you ONLY stock extremely old rc parts. I understand your reliance on online orders, but I feel like I’m in a warehouse rather than a hobby shop. It feels like a storage unit. boxes, exercise equipment, and overpriced outdated junk. The selection of plastic models is alright, but I would expect more out of a...
Read moreIt's simply not worth the visit. I can't seem to place my finger on why this shop is open for business. As far as anything RC related from Planes, cars, boats you have no reason to even think of stopping. As far as plastic and general hobbies it's very limited. I think the Old Winkies ( before they moved ) was a great hobby shop loaded with all kinds of goodies. Now in this new location I can only assume they pay virtually no or low rent because the business would never be able to exist in a normal shopping center with the lack on inventory and or sales this place generates. It's part of the airport area and I think this place sat empty for years so perhaps they recieved a great deal to move in. I can't say anything about their business polices because I would have zero reason to buy anything in this shop. I probably have more hobby products to sell in...
