Big Al's Pizza in the Parkdale area of Manistee, Michigan, isĀ a popular, family-owned takeout spot known for its Chicago-style deep-dish and Motown-style thick crust pizzas, generous toppings, and subs, though some reviews mention potential issues with cleanliness and order accuracy.Ā It's praised for its flavorful, handcrafted pizza with a unique sauce and quality ingredients. Eat inside or take it to go. Especially love their ranch dressing. You can also have them cover strombolis in garlic butter. The fat girl in me goes crazy the moment I open the doors and inhale that amazing aroma. #pizzaplaces #followme #goodfood #manisteemichigan #northernmichigan

This place was awful. I ordered a pizza and salad and was given a plastic tub of shredded lettuce with random condiments thrown in. The pizza was even worse, this place is supposedly ā€œpraised for its Chicago-style pies,ā€ but what I got was a misshapen, uneven, mess of cheese that slid off when I tried to even pull a slice apart. The pizza is cut as if the workers had never learned basic geometry of an even circle, and some of the crust doesn’t even match up to the rest of the pizza. It’s almost as if they added a slice or two to complete the circle. Not to mention the dough is about a millimeter thin so I am not surprised none of the cheese and toppings stayed on top. Also this place is crazy overpriced, a regular pizza and salad should not be $25, especially if they continue planning on serving this slop. I am not from the area but this is easily the worst, overpriced pizza I have ever been served and I will make sure to inform others who travel to the Manistee area not to come here. Do better ā€œAl.ā€

We stayed at a local campground for the weekend and dropped in for lunch. I wasn't expecting much but sandwiches sounded great and there weren't a ton of restaurant options to choose from. They have a decent selection of sandwich options as well as pizza, bread sticks, stromboli, and pasta. All of use ended up getting a sub of various kind and all of us absolutely loved it. One of the staff members told us that they make the bread in house and that they make everything fresh and to order. They also slice everything themselves and they source local. You can really taste the quality because everything was delicious. The subs are really generous and you can get extra meat if you really want to, but it's probably not necessary. Prices are very fair...about $10 per person if you order a sub and a drink.

We also got the mozarella breadsticks, which were tasty. We though they were more like bosco sticks with the cheese inside, but they came with melted cheese on top. No big deal, still really tasty. The dough is made in house and so is the pizza sauce and both were awesome. We also got nacho cheese and it's the real deal.

Everything was so good we ended up going for lunch again when we were heading out. Highly recommend if you're in the area - must stop in if you're staying in Orchard Beach SP.

We'll definitely try the pizza next time, but we're definitely coming back for those subs. Try...

10 years ago this was one of my favorite pizza places. The quality of service and pizza I received yesterday was a far cry from good, it was overpriced and poor quality, and arrived 45 minutes after the expected half hour delivery window. (I understand it was busy...which is why I called 2 hours ahead to place the order.) $63 for an XL pizza, a Stromboli, and a Mozerella Bread. (And yes I called after the pizza didn't arrive within the first 30 minute window, and was assured the pizza was 'on its way')...then waited the additional 45 minutes.

I thought that was a high price, but I'm okay paying for quality. What we received was far from quality.

The Meat Pizza was cold, floppy, and very low on cheese. The slices wouldn't hold up and the topping fell off upon trying to pull a slice out - it's been a long time since I've had a worse pizza.

The Mozerella Sticks were a joke. Some sprinkled Mozerella hard and disjointed from the cold bread after looking like they were microwaved a half hour ago.

The Strom was cold but fine. And of course they forgot to bring the paper plates...but that was the least of my concerns.

I will no longer be looking to make this a stop when I visit Manistee. The value is no longer...

NO CLASS..Well what can you say about a place that allows a kid to run the register and pick his nose and wipe it on his shirt while he's taking your credit card payment. .

I was in town and decided to order a pizza so I went into this place that was my only choice..

And ordered a pizza so the kid was taking my payment and started digging in his nose with his right hand and wipe it on his shirt so I said to him that's gross and he thought it was funny. So he had my credit card and I asked him to use his other hand and he refused to and handed it back to me with the same hand..So I grabbed a napkin and picked my card up and wipe it off..So he asked me what table will I be sitting at I said I'll just come and get my pizza please don't touch my Pizza.Well we were sitting down and here he comes with my pizza laughing and I went to the manager and he refused to even talk to me about the situation and they never returned my call..I think it was strictly because I'm An African American. I was treated with total disrespect and grossed out..No class establishment. I Didn't want to cause a problem being that I was visiting the city and was a total stand out if you know what I mean ..I just tossed the...
