I absolutely loved the work! Using shrink tubes over wires that you connect manually to an electrical board are some of my favorite things to do at home on my own with drones!
However, the pay is poor and some of the staff completely ruin the entire vibe of enjoying yourself or your work at all. A couple managers in the boat motors section take a very authoritarian stance on their team. They don't get to know the people who they manage. Granted they have temps coming in, they still don't get to know them to be able to utalize their strengths or help coach their weaknesses.
Sarah, who is supposed to lead her team yelled at a guy during a team meeting. She told him "stop talking" multiple times while distracting others and being very rude in the process. Because Sarah did not approach the situation with an open mind she was not aware that he was asking a teammate to tell him what was being said in the meeting because he couldn't hear. As I was witness to how quiet those meetings are, I understand many people don't hear what is said during them. Employees do not tell their management what they would like from them to help improve the workplace because they are afraid of more innapropriate and unprofessional backlash from management.
The second day I was there (after orientation day) I was yelled at by the same lead for not having eyewear. While I was walking up to her to ask for a pair since I had not recieved mine yet. This was the first time I met her.
These managers raise their voice in a rude and demeaning way towards their people and misjudge situations harshly without understanding the details. This creates systemic frustration amongst the employees. Creating poor work environment as well as less efficient productivity from their people. Very old fashioned management that does not seem willing to practice positive change in order to achieve better outcomes.
On a better note for the staff, Plant Manager Dennis is very kind, respectful, hard working Manager. He gives positive feedback to his employees while holding people respectfully accountable for their responsibilities. He is the example of management that should be practiced on the floor daily by the...

Minn Kota,
I don't normally post negative reviews on a companies facebook page, or anything else but it seems to be the only way to get them to take care of their customers these days. I purchased a new boat in April with a new minn kota max trolling motor. The trolling motor started seizing up and grinding the first of June. It took 2 weeks to get it fixed. Now i'm 200 miles from home fishing and the motor is doing the exact same thing. So in less than 4 months I've been stuck on a lake 2 times not able to use my trolling motor. Now they want me to take it back to a shop to get repaired. Maybe it's time for a new motor or give me my money back and i'll buy a MOTORGUIDE and be done...
Read moreCalled in for my edrive troubleshooting as the motor is stuck in the up position. I over-rode it with 12 vdc and it moved down. This is the second e-drive that has done this to me. Do you think Minn Kota would give me the wiring diagram so I can fix it? Proprietary they say. They would not even help me on the phone. Minn Kota told me to bring the e-drive into a tech and that is it. It is out of warranty. I have no trailer to bring the pontoon boat in. The point is: Bad service.... Bad product Don't buy anything made from Johnson outdoors... Cannon downriggers, Huminbird fish finders and Minn Kota. I have bought all and have had issues with all the makes...
