Two kids showed up at my house to install and remove a natural gas stove. There's a shut off behind the stove, which pass used when changing out the stove or maintenance on the appliance. Somehow they managed to damage the line so the shut off valve no longer worked. Now to be fair this is all second hand knowledge because I was at work while my house with my wife and 3 kids was filling up with flammable gas. I talked to one of the "kids" via my wife's phone and instructed him on what to do and where to shut the gas off at so I didn't have to light every pilot lite in my house and garage. Long story short I find out later that whoever's in charge at Barkers sent someone to my house that had no understanding on natural gas appliances or installation of them. Turns out the kid didn't have any sort of teflon tape our pipe dope on his connections hence why explosive had was pouring into my house. The owner must have told them about the tape because they put it on and magically the leak was fixed ,go figure. Would never do...
Read moreIt's getting more and more difficult to find competent appliance repair at all, and especially for appliances that were purchased elsewhere.
Barker's was willing to send their repair guy Riley 30 minutes from the store to service a dryer we did not buy from Barker's. Two days after I initially called.
And the service was fantastic. These days, you just hope for competence. Riley was extremely courteous, friendly, and I could tell he really knew his stuff. He showed up when Barker's said he would show up. He had the dryer disassembled and the problem diagnosed within 10 minutes, and left 40 minutes after he arrived - all at a very reasonable price.
If I could leave a 10 star review, I would. From the initial call to the completion of the repair, the process could not have been better.
It's not at all surprising. We purchased a refrigerator from Barker's a few years ago, and we got the same exceptional customer service during...
Read moreI never leave reviews but this company has been horrific towards helping me fix my washing machine. They came to replace my rubber seal and since then, my machine has been acting up. They send service again (charge me again) and they still can’t fix it. Tell me to update software, call the wifi number to tell me that’s not the issue. So, back to calling Barker and because I spoke up to James after he was ignorant to me on the phone, he said he will no longer service me. Typical company to wipe their hands clean when they can’t fix something and constantly blame everyone else while they nickel and dime you for everything. I’ll be going to Dons Appliance from now on where we have gotten other appliances and they have incredible customer service. Extremely sad to see a company mistreat customers this way to make a buck. It’s not hard to do the right thing, you just have to want to...
