The Candy Box — Local services in Mantua Township

Been getting Candy Box candy for Christmas for 35 years. Way back when they were on Rt322. I must say its not like it was. This year i got my usual assorted dark chocolate creams. Only they aren't creamy anymore. The lemon,rasberry, orange all taste basically the same. They are dryer they years past. One of the reasons i go there instead of other chocolate candy stores was exactly the consistency of there fruit flavored,butter and mint creams. I hope they change back to there previous recipe. Because this dry powered Whitmans Chocolate recipe is not worth the premium i gladly paid before. I haven't asked how much a pound was in 25 years because the quality was worth whatever they charged. This year im very disappointed. I had a lemon and a reasberry and a orange and couldnt tell the difference. Please! Please! Go back to the old recipe..it made your chocolate one of a kind. And well...

We were visiting on vacation and wanted to bring back treats for friends and found this shop. The website was misleading and made it appear the store was much bigger and had gift options. We were severely disappointed to learn how tiny it was and there was nothing that looked gifty in there at all. We settled on a couple of incredibly overpriced chocolate items and a sweet charm. The lady working was nice and pleasant. Once in the car we tried one of the chocolate items to have an idea of what we were going to be giving as a gift. We tried a sampler box. We each tried one to start and all at the same time spit them out...we all tried a 2nd one... same thing. The chocolate tasted so old. I've never experienced that before. I had no idea chocolate could taste that way. We wouldn't be going back there...

This is some of the best candy in AMERICA. Ive ordered from many places across the coumtry. And at $18 a pound its the best tasting and best value in America. Their creams are liquidy not powdered. As they should be. I like the creams but ive gotten the assorted boxs and every piece is a delight. The only thing i would ask is. A chocolate candy store in Vermont has a 2 inch pepermint patty and raspberry patty thats amazing. I wish they had one too. Maybe they could make them in the future. Id shorely stop in for some. Thanks for the treats at a fair price. You really do get...
