While the tour was great, the experience leading up to it was disappointing and far from family-friendly. Florida state parks are meant to be enjoyed by families, and this place did not meet that standard.

We recently visited Florida Caverns State Park with a group of 11 people, including several children. We had booked a 1 PM tour but arrived at 1:02 PM after wrangling our kids, only to be told the tour had left at 12:55 PM. We were then forced to repurchase tickets for a later tour, which was quite frustrating and expensive.

While we understand we were slightly late, the manager’s response was completely unacceptable. He was rude, loud, and unapologetic, which only added to our frustration. This experience was far from the family-friendly environment that Florida state parks are supposed to offer.

On a positive note, our tour guide, Tristan, was fantastic. He was engaging and patient with our kids, making the tour itself enjoyable.

However, there are significant inconsistencies and issues that need addressing: The website lists tour times as 1 PM and 3 PM, but in-person tours run approximately every 15 minutes. There is a $5 minimum charge for card purchases in the gift shop, which is inconvenient especially on a hot summer day.

Florida state parks needs to find a new vendor that truly appreciates the beauty of the Florida caverns and wants to share that with everyone, not just make a...

We booked a 1 PM tour and arrived at 1:02 after wrangling a bunch of children for our large group. We understand that we were 2 minutes late, but we were told the group left at 12:55. The only option was to re purchase our tickets for another time. We understand that we were late but it was rather frustrating to re purchase tickets for a group of 11 people, which was half of the tour. The manager was completely rude, loud and unapologetic. The tour itself was good with the tour guide, Tristan was great especially with our kids. There are different rules if you purchase online vs purchasing in person. The website shows 1 pm and 3 pm for tours, in person it’s about every 15 minutes or so. Plan accordingly. If you purchase with a card in the gift shop, there is...

Experience was good we thoroughly enjoyed the caves didn't know they were there someone told us about him and told us to come and see and we did thoroughly enjoyed it we had an excellent tour guide we were there on August 9th at 1:00 p.m. she was very good not only did she make the two are very informative but she had a humor to it and that made it better I definitely will come again just don't know when but I'll bring some more family members especially the children, our family is tall people so when we had to bend down to about 4 ft whatever that was funny everybody got a kick out of it because they told you that you have to be in a move an awkward places because of the cavern but it...

A little under whelming and service wasn’t great. The area upstairs is very interesting and the educational videos are typical of a state park but informative. Parking and walkways are clean and lite, but if you are in a wheelchair or have issues walking the sidewalks up to the visitors center and museum or a little steep. The cave tour was very, very well done! The building is visually impressive as it was built by the CCC in the early 30’s I do believe. If you love stone exteriors that are real this building is worth the visit.

It was so amazing to see the caverns! We did the flashlight tour and our tour guide did an amazing job at explaining all the different rocks and formations. This was a trip for a little getaway and worth every penny. We are already planning on going back. FYI we went and they did have flooded areas so be prepared to get wet, bring an extra change of shoes and wear clothes that tend to dry fast!
