Filled out an application online and made a mistake and put the wrong address (my previous address) and when they called they said the property management says I don’t live there. Told them I just recently moved a month ago and made a mistake and put my old address. No big deal. She wanted me to fill out a new application. No. Just change the address in your system and call my landlord. The lady got all agitated but I ignored it. She said she will change the address and call my landlord. Calls back 10mins later and said the man she spoke with told her she had the wrong number and he didn’t own any properties. So now I look crazy right. I told her to read back the number I gave her and it was the right one. I told her that’s weird because that’s the number i use to talk to my landlord. I call my landlord and he said he hasn’t talked to anyone from the animal shelter. So come to find out she dialed the wrong number (probably out of anger) and didn’t care to try the number again. Anyway, she calls the same number AGAIN and spoke with my landlord. Now we’re in day two. She’s calls me back and said we’ll finish the application process after I give my landlord my 250$ pet deposit. That’s crazy, especially since I haven’t even seen the animals nor have they even came to do a home visit. Why would I give my landlord a check when I don’t even have the animal or don’t even know if my application is approved or not. What if we changed our mind, or come in and the animal we want is gone. That’s ludicrous. This woman just wanted to give me a hard time. If he said he approves animals to be in my apartment, my pet deposit has nothing to do with you guys. That’s between me and my landlord. Giving me a hard time when all I’m trying to do Is adopt a cat. Sad. I would rather save a stray cat who will be out here in the cold winter then deal with a facility who wants to arm...
Read moreI've now adopted 3 wonderful cats from CVHS. Twiggy was adopted 4 years ago, she was the light of my life!! She stayed with my ex when we got divorced but is still twiggin around like she always does. On Aug. 1st I adopted a beautiful white cat (Snuggle) with heterochromia from them too and named her Yuna. She has such a sweet disposition and fits into my household perfectly. Yuna developed a UTI and they called their Vet Tech for me and gave me UTI meds for her for free. I love how they support adopters through the whole process and ensure the pet they adopted stays healthy. Staff and volunteers there are so extremely kind and helpful as well.
Updated my review just to say we adopted little Montee from CVHS to be a companion to my sweet Tuna back in December. This little adoptee my daughter sweetle named Canada. She was the runt of the litter of a pregnant stray that was brought into them.
Canada and Yuma are just the absolute best companions. They are Yin and Yang and often sleep curled together like the Yin Yang sign. Canada keeps my senior girl Yuna who is 7 still youthful and playful.
I have never had a single problem with any animal I have adopted at CVHS. Their staff is amazing and they really know how to introduce you to the perfect furry friend to join your family. Thank you CVHS for giving me 3 amazing fur babies to love on for the...

I called today and asked about their feral cat program, and I misspoke when it's actually named the Barn Cat program. The woman on the phone could not understand I what I meant from context clues even though I was transferred to her after the first lady (very lovely) understood me and wired me to her.
She was rude, condescending and had a huge attitude. While everyone is allowed to have bad days, never have I had such a unpleasant experience with a shelter staff worker. The lack of empathy that this woman had was the type you would experience with animal control, not a no-kill shelter that has many positive reviews.
There is no excuse for that type of unprofessionalism in the workplace, please do better. If you don't like your job or where you volunteer, find a different place and don't take it out on others trying to do a good thing for the community.
If you are nasty to humans, I cant imagine how you act to those who cant speak.
It breaks my heart to leave a bad review here, but she's 100% not fit to answer calls for such a paw-sitive cause shelter.
This call took place at 2:45pm on Wednesday December...
