Food Giant — Local services in Marion

The prices are to expensive. I do my grocery shopping at the dollar store. I can barely afford to get groceries at the dollar general store. The only reason I go to food giant is for potatoes & some things like generac pop tarts for a $1/box. With Marion only having 1 grocery chain means that they hike prices up enough that people, like me, who has to live on Social Security/Disability, which isn't much. Even the deli use to be able to get 8 pieces of dark meat for $4.00 now it's a few dollars more & the chicken isn't much to look at. If it's not on the $1 isle then I don't even entertain myself going thru the rest of the store.with Marion only having 1 grocery store sux!! They hike up prices only because there's no other store to compete with so what I can't get at the dollar store I go to Wal-Mart.. sick of this town practically ripping...

I don't live in this town. I was just visiting family and we needed to run to the grocery store for some things. This is a fairly small town. No walmart, meijer, publix, anything like that. Food Giant what's the largest store in town. Where I live, there are a couple food Giants but they are small stores similar to the IGA stores from 30 years ago. So I was rather surprised when I walked in and found the store to be every bit if not larger than the grocery section of a super walmart. The place was very well-kept, clean, organized, everything was easy to find and stocked in a way that made sense. Lines were short but they were several electric carts were available and charged which was important to me. There was a general positive feel that you don't get at walmart. Lol Overall I have to say I was quite impressed...

If they had turkey burgers, potstickers, and the bigger packages of eggrolls I wouldn't need to go to Paducah lol! I really appreciate that they are keeping chai tea on hand. It's more expensive than Walmart but because I ask for it and they're supplying it, I'll continue to get it there when ever I can. Also it maybe worth it to save on gas. Update Purchase date 08/15/22 Got my monthly indulgence of crab salad from the pre-made deli section. I have to say, who ever made this crab salad, you're fired. LOL! But really it was terrible.
