H-E-B — Local services in Marlin

I have been shopping at this store atleast once a week since 2015 and this has been a common occurrence since 2023 for me. I want to start off by staying the store is nice and clean, but unfortunately there have been multiple times I get something only to discover it's a few weeks to a few months past expiration date. The most recent was this past Tuesday 5/21/24. I bought 2 tubes of ground Turkey. One expired 5/15/24, the other expired 4/18/24. The worst had been a bag of the Autumn trail mix that I bought this past Oct. It had been a full year past expiration. I was allowed to exchange that one with receipt showing I purchased it that day. I know I should probably start checking the dates on the product, but I shouldn't have to. There are people who are paid to do that. I can understand a few days past, I used to stock shelves for a Walmart, so I know that's a common occurrence, but to have something over a month past due at the back of the shelf (not sure if this store practices F.I.F.O but I usually try to shop back self with meats and dairy products). Thank the good lord that meat smells horrendous when its even a week past due. I can't tell you how many times someone would get sick if I couldnt smell that the meats were rotten....

I don't usually write reviews but today's experience was absolutely disappointing. I understand work gets hectic and maybe some customers are rude but if you're that upset about it, then leave. I was in customer service, person on counter was Sandra, first and foremost if you're unable to communicate with people because of their language then it would be best to get someone who can understand what it is that they are trying to do, than to stand there and be rude and roll your eyes and huff and puff. It took me to help the ladies finish their transaction. Then it was my turn this woman was so rude also huffing and puffing about the transaction I was trying to do. Not only was her attitude different with other customers but her way in handling everything that happened was beyond what I had to deal with anyone before. If she was so upset of being put there than maybe switching with someone else was best since she tends to be a slight more friendly elsewhere. Our HEB in Marlin, TX. Is small compared to larger cities so you don't get the variety of products. That being said the only downside of shopping is when you check out the attitude of certain middle aged female Latino telling you she can't slow down slinging the checked items do to their quota! The products end up stacked up in the bagging area, and bread, eggs, chips, and other products end up damaged due to incorrect bagging! I've made a habit of looking for the angry woman face before I get in line but it doesn't always works even when you do ALL...
