Easy walk on the trail for most ability levels. At the time of this writing, the parking directly outside the trail was blocked off. We parked across from Sugarloaf and walked up the hill on the shoulder of the road. If you are camping at Rippling River, just take the path from there.
The trail is a well maintained, mostly shaded 1.25 walk to the falls. You will begin to hear the water as you get closer. Look for a deviation from the path that goes to the left. There will be a sign and some stairs going down. Once you get to the bottom of the stairs, you will cross a wooden bridge. If you are feeling adventurous, take the path down to the base of the waterfall. A lot of people take off their shoes and enjoy a break. There was a picnic table to sit at when we were there. Read moreReally cool walk, especially if staying at the Rippling River Resort. Yes, the road is closed to vehicles, but if you're interested in waterfalls with parking I've got bad news. OR, if you're up for some scenery we walked the Morgan Creek Loop which is a multipurpose trail that winds around through the forest and along the Carp river. I suggest considering the amount of mountain bike traffic at the time of day of your visit so as to be courteous to those users of the trail, but unlike other trails in the area it is marked as dual-use. It's not as far back as the map shows, about 1.3 miles by road, and maybe double that by trail with all the switchbacks. The actual location is closer to...
Read morePark across the road CR 553 on the right side heading to Marquette. There's lots of parking near all sorts of trails. You can drive back here. But it's only 1.75 miles of beautiful easy walking. Groomed in the winter. Dirt road. The falls are NOT handicap or wheelchair accessible even if you drive back. Limited parking spots back there. Walk down steps to view from top. Must cross small foot bridge and walk a semi steep but short trail to the bottom. No camping allowed. The falls are beautiful summer, spring, fall and winter. Every season adds a little something different. At this time there are multiple trees down at the top of the falls, be careful crossing that narrow no railing foot...
