Union County Fairgrounds — Local services in Marysville

Used to be a nice fair. Now they are over charging for everything and accommodating nothing. Rides and concessions are a joke. I have seen school carnivals that are better. Also the only fair I have ever known that charges contestants of that main grandstand events admission. The new grand stands were designed poorly, a ton of seating was removed and the standing area isn't kid friendly, kids can't see over the railing. Hope they made there money on gouging everyone because looking at the grand stand, attendance was poor. Fair board need to get their act together and remember what makes a good fair, the attendees! Got tickets to see Gary Allan. Took the day off work. It was the only reason for going to the fair. When we got there the parking attendant informed us Gary Allan wasn't there due to someone having covid. Walker Hayes was there instead. He was awful 😖 They were even letting people in VIP area because there was not a good crowd. We left in the middle of his show. I wish I would have just been notified and refunded. I hope Gary Allan and his crew are healthy...

The fairgrounds themselves are pretty nice, and it looks like there are tracks for horses. If you go for the fair, however, there isn't very much there unless you go to the grandstand when they have an event, or watch animal judging. It felt like we payed too much for our experience as when we went, there just wasn't much there other than food and rides, which you had to pay for separately. Maybe we just went on a poor day, or visited too late...
