What a great way to teach our grandchildren about their great grandfather's and grandmother's. We started our at the missionary church and then visited Elijah Oliver's place. We stopped in at the visit center to look for gifts. Our grandson who is six years old loved the ranger hat and vest. He got a smokey mountain pin and a patch to place on his vest. He absolutely loved this and said it will help him play, "Game Warden" as well. Our little Junie who is four years old got some books about butterflies and mammals. Her favorite was a very small book with bears and other animals on the front with blank pages. As we visited each cabin we talked about living in the cabins with no running water or heat. We showed the importance of living next to a creek or stream. Learned about the spring house at Elijahs place and how Becky Cable owned 600 acres, had a store and rented out rooms. We talked about the Grist Mill and how it makes flour and corn mill for biscuits and corn bread, cakes and pies. We sat on Tipton front porch where our great grandfather's use to peel apples and tell great stories. It was another lovely day in the Cove. Made me miss my...

Ok so, the place itself is beautiful! But!!! Im starting to do RESTROOM REVIEWS where ever I travel! They had the WORST kept bathrooms. It would be nice to hire someone JUST TO KEEP THE RESTROOMS CLEAN!? LIKE I said, other than this issue BEAUTIFUL scenery! 😀👍🏼

Also I noticed this trip 6-2024 IT TOOK SO LONG TO DRIVE THROUGH! People kept stopping and NOT allowing cars to keep moving. Was frustrating. Like 20 or more vehicles STOPPED AND STUCK having to WAIT for them to move on. I SURE HOPE SOMEONE...

Love the visitor center. Only 4 stars because somehow first thing in the morning their visitor center bathroom smelled like people peed on the floors all night and it needed a solid hosing down. Cades cove is beautiful and the gift shop portion of the visitor center is very similar to Sugarland visitor center. Tons of cute and fun ways to bring home memories that...

Love going to visit cades cove whenever we are in the Gatlinburg area. Tons of wildlife and beautiful views. The loss of star is only due to crowds and lack of traffic control on the loop. (Speed limit is 20mph but traffic will literally come to a dead stop for anything from a turkey to a rainbow.)
