Time to get back into the gym. I walk into CrossFit 557 and BAM, I'm hit with the realization that I am not nearly pretty enough to workout in this gym! I have spent the better part of my life pounding out the weights in every type of gym that you can imagine, from military tents in a hot desert, all the way to top level private spas. I have never been intimidated walking into a gym the way that I was when I first laid eyes on the group of people finishing their hyper-intense "met-con" workout. I couldn't help but stare as shirtless dudes with 8-pack abs and girls rocking tank tops and short shorts were working out like it was the last time they would ever get to lift weights. I stood by myself for a few minutes until some people noticed me, and immediately they started coming up to say hey, and invited me in as if I was an old friend! After just a few minutes all of the intimidation faded away, and I realized that I was right where I needed to be!
As I did the workout that day, and talked to more and more people, I realized that this gym has some things that no other gym around can offer. The community of fitness geeks is one of them! The people at this gym are not just making gym buddies. When you join CF557, you really become part of a family! Another thing that is awesome about 557 is the coaching staff. The attention to detail and clear communication skills of the coaches makes it extremely easy to learn how to become a better athlete with safety and performance in mind. The facilities are top notch. Bearing in mind that the "box" is set up in the typical CrossFit, minimalist style, it doesn't feel cramped, and there is plenty of quality equipment for even the largest of classes.
CrossFit 557 is more than just a gym. You're going to get more than just a membership. It's really about becoming part of a community of like minded people focused on fitness,...

I have been a proud member of CrossFit 557 for over five years, and I have every intention of continuing my fitness journey with them as long as I am in the area. Coach Shane is nothing short of amazing, and his unwavering belief in fitness for everyone is evident in every aspect of the gym.
Coach Shane leads by example, demonstrating his commitment to fitness and well-being through his actions at the gym. He is not only an exceptional coach but also a great listener who genuinely cares about helping each member achieve their fitness and nutrition goals. His dedication to selecting and nurturing top-tier coaches at 557 is why everyone on the coaching team is outstanding.
I personally attend the 5am sessions and have the privilege of being coached by Coach Gregg Flores and Alan Knabe. Both of them share Coach Shane's passion for helping individuals reach their personal fitness objectives. Their guidance and support have been invaluable on my fitness journey.
One of the most impressive aspects of CrossFit 557 is its commitment to inclusivity. The gym warmly embraces every person who walks through its doors, creating a welcoming and supportive community. If you are in search of a fitness home that truly cares about your goals and well-being, I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to Shane McBride and exploring everything that CrossFit 557...
Read moreI can’t say enough positive things about my experience at Crossfit 557. I’ve been a member for over three years, and I’ve seen a marked improvement in my overall health. Before joining CrossFit I belonged to a gym that was all self-paced, and I didn’t know the proper way to lift, or to get myself back in shape. Even though I was a long-time runner, that didn’t help me in the gym with all the new weights and equipment. After joining Crossfit557 I was immediately impressed with the workout routines that the coaches at Crossfit 557 developed. I never felt as though I was overworked, but at the same time, I always felt I was getting a great workout. Each of the sessions lasted an hour and focused on core strength, gymnastic moves, and overall muscle conditioning. Even though I’d classify myself as a senior at 67 years old, I feel I get something out of every workout. Since joining CrossFit, I’ve participated in two Spartan races and several local 5K runs. Better than that I notice an increase level of my fitness for my day to day lifestyle. I can’t imagine where I would be without the work I’ve done in the last three years at CrossFit 557. I owe...
