Dollar General — Local services in Maryville

I’ve been to this location twice since living here a year now. The first time was ok, but this second time made me question will I be back and this was my experience today. Me and my husband have been doing a little home improvement shopping. I seen a few items I liked but I came across a hat that for the price had me sold which on the stand it was on said $6.50. When I made it to the register I grabbed one without a tagged, I offered to go grab one with a tag and I was telling the guy who was super nice that I believe it was 6 something but I’ll grab one with a tag, as where talking a woman in the back room yells super loud and rude not even stepping out to see the hat just figure it was that hat yells if it’s the camo hat it’s 9 or 10 dollars not 6. At first I was going to just leave it alone but I just knew I was right and she was wrong and instead of her assuming it she would have did a price check. I took it upon myself to still go back and grab another one with the tag because I knew I was right. Well she came out and scanned it and sure enough I was right. Now it’s not about the price because if she wasn’t so rude about it I would have brought it for 10 but she was clearly rude and wrong and that’s definitely not a way to treat paying customers at all. I take it she’s the manager but the way she manages thing and talks to people isn’t right at all. I really hope this review reaches corporate or maybe even her. Instead of making a customer feel like they don’t want to purchase something and wanting to put it back wouldn’t you want your merchandise to sell. I think I’ll just stick with going to another location...

This is the best Dollar General location that I have ever been to. I go there regularly. They are always well stocked and have the name brand and generic brand options and also stock just about anything I need to live a decent life with in that they have their great food selections, beverages, house hold & personal care items as well. I find their prices to also be quite competitive and their employees are always quite helpful if I need something and can't find it. Very laid back & courteous as well as polite and since I see the same employees working they know me on sight and I am not dealing with somebody new of every visit since the don't seem to suffer the turnover rate with a bunch of newbies like I experience in other stores. So you have the choice to buy on a budget or to buck up and get name brand quality products. Their parking lot is always clean as well as the store and I feel very comfortable returning there on a weekly basis or just for a quick stop to pick up something quick. I'd recommend this Dollar General to anyone as a best of Dollar General location around. I often bring my mother who is 82 years old to this location because she just loves the selection and prices - it is a real treat for her to get her shopping done in a laid back & generally not crowded place & she just raves about how this is the best Dollar General I've ever been to after we are leaving the...

I just moved here and so love it such a quaint little town. I have had one bad experience here and that is coming into the dollar general on several different occasions I have seen a young man name Joshua be yelled at by 2 different women Co workers I assume are management. They have both yelled so loud that both time I was in the back of the store by the candles and I could hear it happening. The one lady is older with glasses and I witnessed her scolding him in front of customers for really no reason how degrading cause he is a grown man. I got the vibe he is treated badly and on a regular basis after speaking with another employee there about what i witnessed and her comment to me was I just stay out of it. I will be calling corporate and making a complaint i have names I'm just not exposing them on social media. I want to say if you are reading this that is not how you treat another human being and shame on you. I'm sure he needs his job and just puts up with it cause both times he didn't say anything back to either women. I will make sure it stops thank God for cellphone video recording.
