What a lovely oasis located on the banks of the Little River in Townsend, Tennessee, the Peaceful Side of the Smokies! We had a wonderful time while staying there and enjoyed the relaxing, country cottage vibe the owners have so carefully created. The screened porch is a relaxing place for morning coffee or curling up with a good book. In the evening, we built a roaring fire in the fire pit and, of course, roasted marshmallows. If you stayed here in the late spring or summer months, there would be miles of river in which you could go tubing, then pull up on the banks of the property when you were done. There's a nice trout run within casting distance of the near bank, too, if that interests you. The swinging bridge is a very cool, romantic little spot which apparently bears the tradition of couples hanging locks engraved or etched with their names or initials from the chain link fencing. So this would also be a nice place for an engagement or anniversary trip. I also enjoyed the walking trail which runs from just across the bridge practically to the entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We didn't have our bikes, but next time, I will certainly bring them, because this is a paved greenway trail which is perfect for biking, even if you have children with you. This cottage is so close to the Park, you could spend all day on the trails in the Park and return in mere minutes to your comfortable respite along the river. I cannot recommend this cottage more highly. Give it a try! You will fall in love...
Read moreWe had great visits to this amazing cottage on two occasions. The cottage is very clean and up-to-date with everything you need provided. The beds are very comfortable and plenty of seating is available inside and on the lovely screened in porch that overlooks the Little River. It is peaceful and relaxing and in close proximity to everything the Smoky Mountains Park and Townsend have to offer. Tubing on the Little River is available right in front of the cottage and for longer distances as well. A great place for families to enjoy the large yard, fire pit, walking and biking trails. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits and are definitely...
