Cades Cove Cellars in Townsend was definitely by far my favorite winery visit of the wineries we went to in the area as the wines were great, along with service.
They allow you to try 3 for free, but they also allow you to share. So here is what we had:
*Firefly (Blackberry) - good with a hint of blackberry. *Sweet White Muscadine - Good muscadine flavor, nice and sweet. *Harvest Moon - sweet and very smooth, really good. *Ursa Major (Blueberry) - loved this one, sweet, great flavor with a hint of fizz. It had really good blueberry flavor. *Rustic Cabin Red - like grape juice *Sweet Red Muscadine - very good muscadine flavor, nice and sweet.
My top 4: Ursa Major, Sweet Red Muscadine, Harvest Moon, and Sweet White Muscadine. My husband's top 4: Sweet White Muscadine, Ursa Major, Harvest Moon, and Sweet Red Muscadine.
We got a glass of the Ursa Major and Sweet White Muscadine. My only complaint was that the price of the glass, was over the top. We should have just got a bottle to split as we did not realize how expensive the glasses were - no wonder it is not listed on the menu.
Writing this review makes me wish we left with a couple bottles of wine as this ended up being our favorite winery, but now we know when we travel...
Read moreVery disappointing. The staff was extremely rude.
In response to the owner's comments: First of all, we participated in a tasting for four adults during which the staff was cold and un-friendly. No wines were described nor promoted, nor did the staff engage in any conversation. We bought several bottles of wine and several wine slushies to enjoy on property. After finishing our slushies, we kindly disposed of them in a basket, lined with a plastic liner sitting next to the chairs out front. We mistakenly thought it WAS a trash can. The staff came barging outside to the parking lot to yell at us as if we were defacing the property and leaving a mess. She was loud, rude, and condescending. We are business owners and physicians ourselves and we would never condone that type of behavior in our establishments toward any customer from any staff member. Obviously, this culture of "the customer is always wrong" is encouraged by the ownership down to the hourly employee in this establishment. We will never return and would highly recommend others to avoid giving their business to such small minded and inconsiderate people. Visitors please see other reviews and note I am not the only person who has had customer service...
Read moreMy best friend lives in the area and in our little adventures in life we've taken this was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend going. They do have strict mask policies in place for a protective feel and experience. In the times we are in, in this world it is utterly important we show absolute kindness. This staff and their people that work there I can 100% say are truly some of the best people I've met. I know, when you've been through so much through this pandemic it is great to see humanity. A nice glass of wine, wonderful scenery and shops for a relaxing afternoon, if you've never been you must go! Personally I would never believe one bad review of this place. Too each their own but I work in a job that takes allot of patience and Customer Service, that is my main focus of a team of ladies of all different personality types. It is hard to win my vote on so many things I am critical of, but this place has changed all of that! Thank you for all your doing and I will be returning as soon as I can with my fiancé and best friend in the...
