Cades Cove Cellars in Townsend was definitely by far my favorite winery visit of the wineries we went to in the area as the wines were great, along with service.

They allow you to try 3 for free, but they also allow you to share. So here is what we had:

*Firefly (Blackberry) - good with a hint of blackberry. *Sweet White Muscadine - Good muscadine flavor, nice and sweet. *Harvest Moon - sweet and very smooth, really good. *Ursa Major (Blueberry) - loved this one, sweet, great flavor with a hint of fizz. It had really good blueberry flavor. *Rustic Cabin Red - like grape juice *Sweet Red Muscadine - very good muscadine flavor, nice and sweet.

My top 4: Ursa Major, Sweet Red Muscadine, Harvest Moon, and Sweet White Muscadine. My husband's top 4: Sweet White Muscadine, Ursa Major, Harvest Moon, and Sweet Red Muscadine.

We got a glass of the Ursa Major and Sweet White Muscadine. My only complaint was that the price of the glass, was over the top. We should have just got a bottle to split as we did not realize how expensive the glasses were - no wonder it is not listed on the menu.

Writing this review makes me wish we left with a couple bottles of wine as this ended up being our favorite winery, but now we know when we travel...

Very disappointing. The staff was extremely rude.

In response to the owner's comments: First of all, we participated in a tasting for four adults during which the staff was cold and un-friendly. No wines were described nor promoted, nor did the staff engage in any conversation. We bought several bottles of wine and several wine slushies to enjoy on property. After finishing our slushies, we kindly disposed of them in a basket, lined with a plastic liner sitting next to the chairs out front. We mistakenly thought it WAS a trash can. The staff came barging outside to the parking lot to yell at us as if we were defacing the property and leaving a mess. She was loud, rude, and condescending. We are business owners and physicians ourselves and we would never condone that type of behavior in our establishments toward any customer from any staff member. Obviously, this culture of "the customer is always wrong" is encouraged by the ownership down to the hourly employee in this establishment. We will never return and would highly recommend others to avoid giving their business to such small minded and inconsiderate people. Visitors please see other reviews and note I am not the only person who has had customer service...

My best friend lives in the area and in our little adventures in life we've taken this was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend going. They do have strict mask policies in place for a protective feel and experience. In the times we are in, in this world it is utterly important we show absolute kindness. This staff and their people that work there I can 100% say are truly some of the best people I've met. I know, when you've been through so much through this pandemic it is great to see humanity. A nice glass of wine, wonderful scenery and shops for a relaxing afternoon, if you've never been you must go! Personally I would never believe one bad review of this place. Too each their own but I work in a job that takes allot of patience and Customer Service, that is my main focus of a team of ladies of all different personality types. It is hard to win my vote on so many things I am critical of, but this place has changed all of that! Thank you for all your doing and I will be returning as soon as I can with my fiancé and best friend in the...

We were staying down the road at a little cabin and decided to stop in on a Sunday midday for a tasting. We were so pleased to see the strict Covid measures this business is taking to not only protect their customers, but to also protect their employees! We were asked to place our masks back onto our faces in between tastings and we reused the same tasting glasses. Definitely worth it to keep everyone safe and still enjoy the great selections this winery has! We loved every tasting we tried so it was hard to choose, but that’s a good problem to have. We walked away with two Cades Cove winery glasses and a bottle, super happy with the service and experience. If you’re in the area, please give this winery your business. They are incredible!

Wanted a bottle of sweet Muscadine wine for my Easter dinner Sunday. The girls working there let me sample the red and the white. They were very friendly and helpful throughout the process. The white Muscadine tasted exactly like the grape itself. Bold and robust with a subtle sweet tone. The red is sweet with a slightly muted Muscadine flavor not as up front as the white. I did go with the red as my mom really likes sweet wines. I also grabbed a couple of $3.00 wine glasses. This place is really nice inside and has cheese and wine related items. I highly recommend the wine slushy. They have a wine for every palate I just prefer sweet. Stop in and have you three free samples and pick one out. You won't be disappointed.

7/16/25 Angela, thank you for your hospitality and conversation when visiting your winery. Glad to hear that your mother is better also. Your wine is great , we will remember we can order from you directly when we get low! Enjoy the rest of your summer Sarah thank you for your hospitality during our recent visit. We really enjoyed our conversation with you as well as your great variety of wine. Now that we have found this gem on the back roads of Tennessee, we will stop on our future trips to your area. Hope to see you soon, Joe & Laura
