We spent a month in Maui with our three kids and my parents, and this house was absolutely perfect for us. We loved the big space and the location on the North Shore is amazing—close to everything but still peaceful and away from the tourist crowds. Plus, you have direct access to a private beach about 200 feet away.
The house itself had everything we needed: A/C, super comfortable beds, a great kitchen (we grilled most nights), and a beautiful, spacious yard full of organic fruit trees. We even cut down and ate bananas right from our yard! The outdoor shower was a favorite, and there was plenty of beach gear to borrow. We often rode bikes to Baby Beach, which was such a fun and easy trip.
It’s near the airport, so you’ll hear planes taking off. Our kids actually loved it, and it didn’t bother us at all or any of our guests. And honestly, as great as the house is, the best part was our host, January. She is such an incredible, kind person, and it was truly a privilege to get to know her. She made our stay even more special.
The North Shore has such a cool, authentic vibe—no big resorts, just a great local feel. We loved visiting nearby Paia and shopping at Mana, the local grocery store. Make sure you get shave ice from Waikomo; it's soo good.
If we ever get the chance, we’d book this place again in a heartbeat. I...

The disappointment was that a burglar came into the house and stole some of our belongings while we slept. There is a homeless encampment nearby that you will pass on the way in and out of the property. The Maui PD believes the homeless look for crimes of opportunity in the neighborhood but say there aren’t many problems. If you stay, it’ll be tempting to keep the doors open and let the ocean breeze in but keep the doors looked. The host had this review removed from...
