We had an absolutely amazing time. Not only do you get to have a gentle yoga class with breathtaking views, but friendly goats come and hang with you. The goats are obviously loved and cared for like beloved family members. As a bonus, the day we were there, two 2-week old babies had just joined the herd and were carefully passed around for snuggles.
The length of the class is just right - basically 45 minutes of a gentle vinyasa with plenty of time for goat greeting and selfies before and after (and honestly, during). Our teacher, Ann, was absolutely lovely and kept the vibe very zen while also making space (sometimes literally) for the beasties asana-ing with us.
Going into it I thought it would be fun and silly, and while it was absolutely that, it was also grounding and gave me a new appreciation and connection to the island. Kula is so beautiful, it's wonderful life that the owners have built there, and we felt a very genuine sense of aloha as they talked about their farm and gave us a little bit of history.
You do not need any prior yoga experience to enjoy, and the goats are 100% friendly. As an example, the drive from Wailea was about an hour, so plan for that. Grandma's Coffee House is just down the hill and a perfect place to stop in afterward (have the cinnamon bread!). The general store next door was well stocked, but bring your cash, they don't take credit.
Thank you again for a wonderful...
Read moreThis place is not in Lahaina!! This is in kula how unethical of this business to lie to people especially those who want to support Lahaina and the rebirth of Lahaina there is no Aloha or yoga etiquette considered here ! Wow
Goat yoga is across the nation. No one has a patent on it. And it did not evolve in Maui or originate in Maui. There is something dirty about saying you are in Lahaina when you are not. Especially after the loss of beloved Lahaina. This comment is to shed light about the misconception of the location to save many visitors from booking somewhere under misguidance. There is also no patent on yoga a 5000 year old practice but there are traditions to follow and misleading is unethical if this business understood yoga which they do not they would adhere to the philosophy. Please do not go here and expect it to be in Lahaina when it is over 1 hour from Lahaina. Namaste' there is enough yoga to go around we have over 10000 visitors a week on Maui. Do you know how many whale watching companies are on Maui. High road? Misrepresentation of location! Yoga is...
Read moreOne of my favorite mornings I’ve ever had. If you’re considering Maui Goat Yoga, please sign up now. We’ve been smiling all day. Kai, the owner, was funny, sweet, there to take pictures, and rightfully very proud of their land.
When you pull up, park on the street. Go in the small gate marked “entrance.” (We were a little confused and turned around and drove down the road, but it’s right where GPS puts you).
You check in down the hill, you can pay for a yoga towel (or bring your own), sign the waiver, and Kai introduces the group to the land/area. Then comes the stampede of little goats. Hilarious and cute!
We were guided through our yoga session by the lovely Megan. She was patient with the guests and goats, and Kai made sure to get pics of a goat on everyone’s backs while we were in Table position.
For yoga newbies and masters, this is a must. Highlight...
