Discovering Adventure with Rappel Maui: Our Team's Thrilling Experience At Paraglide Maui, we’re all about soaring to new heights and sharing the joy of adventure. A few days ago our paragliding instructors visited the Rappel Maui crew for an unforgettable day of rappelling. And let us tell you—it was awesome. What is Rappel Maui? Nestled in the heart of Maui’s lush rainforest, Rappel Maui offers a unique way to explore the island’s natural beauty. Their expertly guided tours take you into the Keanae jungle, where you descend stunning waterfalls and navigate through verdant valleys. It’s a thrilling yet accessible adventure, perfect for anyone looking to step out of their comfort zone and into nature. Our Rappelling Experience From the moment we arrived, the Rappel Maui team made us feel right at home. They kicked things off with a thorough safety briefing and hands-on instruction, and then we geared up. The expertise and enthusiasm of our guides, Shauna and Elena, were contagious, and it wasn’t long before we were ready to rappel. The descent down the waterfalls was nothing short of exhilarating. Each rappel presented its own set of challenges and rewards, from the heart-pounding first step over the edge to the cool splash of water at the bottom. The scenery was breathtaking—cascading falls, towering trees, and the vibrant greens of Maui’s rainforest. Why You Should Try Rappel Maui If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind Maui adventure, Rappel Maui is a must-try. Their professional guides ensure your safety and comfort while creating an unforgettable experience. Whether you're a thrill-seeker or simply want to immerse yourself in the island's natural beauty, this is an activity you'll never forget. If you’re looking to pair your paragliding experience with another adrenaline-pumping activity, we can’t recommend Rappel Maui enough. Trust us—it’s the perfect complement to soaring the skies with...

This review is for SHAUNA, ABBIE, and their BOSS — first of all, merry Christmas and happy new year!! This is Caitlin and Ryan Smith from Maryland and we did the Rappel on 12/22 and when I say…. It was LITERALLY… the best experience in Hawaii…. I’m not kidding. The moment we met Shauna and Abbie we were belly laughing and had a blast getting to know each other. It was raining and cold and they made the best of it. I was terrified to do the first rappel, but I knew how much my husband wanted to do it and I thought “if I go first, then I can’t back out”. So down I went, VERY SLOWLY, and after I jumped into Shaunas arms. they were so supportive the whole time — cheering me on, telling me how strong I was, and were the best hype girls. My husband looked like James Bond going down he was so fast. Anyway, the second one was harder and halfway down I screamed ABBIE I LOVE YOU. She went with it and said I LOVE YOU TOO CAITLIN. Very funny stuff!! The end of the rappelling was spent swimming under a waterfall and Shauna swam with us. Once we were done, we hiked back up and she gave us a lot of cool information about the plants which was awesome to walk away with. Ryan and I left this experience aghast with how much fun, amusement, and pure joy we felt being able to be led by Shauna and Abbie. SURE — rappelling waterfalls are great. But their company, expertise, and WHO they are was the reason why this experience was so memorable. Please give them each one billion dollars. Shauna and Abbie — thank you so much for making our honeymoon so memorable. We wish we were back rappelling again,...

I'm experienced at rappelling and would rate my skill level as moderate. All my friends that came with me on my tour were beginners, some first-timers. We had the good fortune of having Mike and Elena, and they were exceptional.

Mike and Elena first of all were friendly and personable. They were engaging, social, and easy to visit with. It didn't matter our skill level, where we were from, interests, or backgrounds, they were able to connect on a personal level with everyone.

As for the tour itself, they were next level. They quickly evaluated everyone's skill level and treated us accordingly with no judgment. They were professional and encouraging. They genuinely wanted to make sure it was a great experience for everyone and that we all had fun.

They were thorough in their safety checks and did a great job of building and instilling confidence in everyone. At no time did anyone in our group feel that they had anything but our best interest in mind.

It's not the highest, steepest, or most technical rappelling I've ever done, but I've never rappelled a waterfall before and that was pretty fun. I will definitely be going again. Mike and Elena made a good experience better. We went in the morning in mid-April and I didn't find it cold, or the water too high. They also outfit you with properly fitting floatation vests, climbing harnesses, and equipment as well as neoprene boots with grips to avoid slips on the wet rocks. It is well worth...

What an adventure!! Our second trip to Rappel Maui, but this time a totally different experience. Our first was rainy with a raging river, pushing us to different rappel routes away from the dangerous rapids. We still had a blast and vowed to come back to conquer the falls. This time, with our 15 year old son, whom was jealous of our previous trip. Being greeted by Shauna, the kooky main guide, was a treat! She is quite the comedian and enjoys giving you a hard time. Great convo!! I recognized Elena from our previous visit, full of info and very knowledgeable. Last but definitely least was Taylor, fresh off her flight from East side main land and ready to rock. Also a great, fun guide! (They are all awesome) So, like I said, this visit was way different. Warm weather, blue skies and the perfect amount of flow off the falls. Just enough to waterboard yourself if you wanted. There were six of us tourist and the three guides, the day went smooth, everyone with different skill levels and hesitations, talked right over the edge and having an absolute blast, no complaints! Do yourself a favor and step outside of your comfort zone and book this tour! It is something to add to your bucket list that you didn't even know you wanted to do! Thank you Rappel Maui Mahalo 😎🌴

An absolutely excellent experience. My wife, 2 kids 12 and 14, and I went on this tour this week and we had Elena and Jonas as our guides. They were absolutely fantastic. My wife was very nervous about rappelling and had never done it before. They were extremely calm and talked us through everything that we needed to do to rappel. We were inexperienced and they were great at explaining and giving us tips to help. They both worked together very well to make sure that we were safe and not to mention they were such nice people. The waterfalls were beautiful and so cool to be able to rappel down them. In fact the second waterfall they even let us choose a drier way down or to rappel into the waterfall which was great to have the choice. If you are brave I recommend the wetter way down but watch your steps. It’s a beautiful place to get to do this fun activity. We were lucky that it was a beautiful day as well. This was a very memorable experience and can’t wait to tell all our family about it and tell them to go!

We booked the 8 AM rappel at the last minute and it turned out to be one of our favorite Hawaiian excursions! Naomi and Ropheka were amazing. A couple of us… Me!… We’re less than thrilled with the idea of repelling but “taking one for the family” team! They were super patient, super knowledgeable, and made the entire experience so much fun! This was truly a memorable experience and very very highly recommend it! We got to the base camp and got suited up. The equipment was clean and well-maintained. Then we hiked a relatively short distance to the first “Bunny Hill “where we learned what we were doing then we had 2 longer and wetter rappels before hiking out (The hike out is about 20 stories of rough gravelly wooden rainforest steps. This was the hardest part!). Overall it was a fairly short excursion but super fun way to see part of the road to Hana and play in a waterfall. Definitely recommend!
