After reading several recommendations and good reviews about this clinic, I decided to give it a try. I was looking for a local clinic where I could ideally stick with and keep my dogs visiting on any occasions, however this was not quite the spot. During our first visit here, I took my dog in for his excessive vomiting and concerning weight loss, and after a 2 hour wait in the waiting area my pup and I we're finally called in for the consult. Initially, a very friendly technician assisted us to our room to await the Dr. After another 20 minute wait the Dr. finally makes his appearance and screens my dog. He orders all these tests to be taken, including an x-ray without consulting with me the extra charges that would apply. I would say Dr.'s communication approach was a bit rough and dry when it came to answering any questions I had or when asking for recommendations. He seemed to be in a hurry and didn't really give that "quality of care" I was looking for! Anyways, He said my dog had a bacterial infection based on some samples he had taken and proceeded to prescribe antibiotics. Upon leaving, we approach the front desk to find out I had a bill for $300! I mean, I was a little shook just because I wasn't expecting that this visit would be costing us quite a good amount. I understand examinations were taken and so forth, however it would have been a lot nicer if the client (myself) would be advised of the cost of each examination and given the choice to go on with it or not, rather than doing all these exams without actual consent from the client. After paying for my bill, I later had to wait another 30-40 minutes for medication to get prepared. Making it a grand total of 3.5 hours for a wellcheck vet visit! A week went by, and I see no change to my dogs state even though I administered medication just as instructed. I was really hoping that the $300 that easily flew out of my pocket during our initial visit would have fixed the issue my dog was having, but evidently that was not the case. Therefore, I had no other choice to call the clinic once again and ask for advice. I was advised to go in for a RE visit, I arrive at 8pm, checked in and was told there was a 3-4 hour wait to see the Dr.! 11:30pm approaches and no signs that my dog would get called in any time soon. As per other people waiting in the lobby there was some people waiting there for 6-7 hours! As frustrating as it was to think that I had wasted a whole 3 hours for nothing I decided to leave because apparently I would have had to pay for more examinations and more medications after the $300 I had already paid (which didn't resolve the issue). Honestly, I believe this clinic needs to work on organizing their schedule/ clientele a lot better, there is no need for someone to be waiting 3+ hours for a vet consult! If it would make any difference, it would be nice if the doctor was a little more considerate of the families and their wallets when it comes to randomly ordering unconsulted, costly examinations, with the addition of perhaps reassessing the animal at no extra charge if his initial approach was unsuccessful! At the end of it all, my dog continues to exhibit the same symptoms and I've had to search...
Read moreI brought my cat in for having issues breathing /Respiratory issues. The vet did xrays, showed them to me where the mass could be seen, and also explained he had fluids and needed to see someone who can do a biopsy and perform surgery as soon as possible as he only had a while to live. He said he'd call me with a referral to a place that had no wait time. I waited entire next day and no call. I called them the following day, they were closed. I waited till the next morning and was told they'd call me back. I explained to the lady that I needed also copy of his records and xrays bc I myself made him an appointment locally that was 10 days away. She took down my email and said they would email them to me. Nothing was sent,no call. I called them every single day this whole work week that they were open and nothing, finally an entire week from when I first called them I demanded that I spoke to someone because his appointment was in 2 days and I needed his I formation, and that they never told me the referral. This is already 10 days from when he left their place and no call regarding at least the referral. They finally gave me the referral and said the vet said you couldn't seethe mass in the xrays just the fluid so they don't keep those records. That is ridiculous! I told her, I saw the xrays. He showed them to me. I saw the mass, and I wanted the xrays. She said if they found anything they would email them and finally gave me a referral to a place 4 hours away. This would of been great to k ow after his appointment. At this time, my cat is laboring with his breathing, can't eat, is in pain and there's no way I can do that trip for him. Now I'm at a different vet, replaying for xrays, blood work their place said they weren't able to do to help my cat live better. I'm disappointed at the long wait time they took to give me back anything, and their failure to be able to provide me his do uments and xrays for services I paid for. This is not acceptable and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The vet did provide me correct I formation which is why I didn't not give them a 1, however, what good is this I formation if I don't know where to take him to when he's critical till passed a week later, and who doesn't keep records for animals they see?!...
Read moreOn Tuesday, March 5, I took in my dog to get her cropped ears reposted. The price I had been quoted and charged the week before was $30, but that day they stated it was $60. I told them I think you made a mistake, so they consulted with someone and came back telling me I would be charged 45 this one time. However, next time it would be $60 because the price did increase. I felt it was bait and switch, but my puppy needs it so it was fine. Everything was ok until the following day I went home to check on my puppy during lunch. One of the posts was completely out of her ear, still attached, but not upright as it should be. I called the clinic to see if there was anything they could do to resolve this, but the receptionist who answered was immediately aggressive. I told her what happened, and she replied, "So... you left her unattended and she started messing with it." I replied, "No, ma'am. I didn't say that. I said I went home during lunch and the post was loose. It shouldn't be loose because it was just put in yesterday. The other place where I've gone, the post stays in much longer." She put me on hold, and when she came back, she stated, "Doc said that if they did a better job somewhere else, to take them there instead." I asked her for her name and she hung up on me. All I wanted is to take care of my puppy and do what is necessary for her ears to heal properly. I sought the help of what I thought was a professional to help me take care of my pup. This clinic doesn't care about pets or customer service, and if they make a mistake, they won't address or take responsibility. The first time my other dog got posted, it was an older tech who posted and he did great work. This week I got a younger tech, who, unfortunately, didn't do as good a job. I will not be returning to a clinic where they don't care about my pet and don't care about treating a customer with common courtesy. The staff here is unprofessional and hotheaded. Today, I took my pet to the Country vet in Harlingen, and they took real good care of my puppy. It was a relaxing scenic drive to a friendly clinic where the service was excellent and the vibe...
