I met Jeff Skinner (owner/founder) and Black Level AV in the middle of a pretty broad search for significant upgrades to our home. We have a lot of Control4 automation, and after over 15 years working with Control4 and home automation, I've largely just accepted that nobody does this well, at least not in the DFW area.

I am happy to report that Black Level AV has proven this hypothesis wildly incorrect. In less than an hour, I was not only thrilled with what Jeff was recommending, I was confident he would have an attention to detail, a planning mentality, and first rate communication.

Now that the first project with Black Level AV is complete, I can tell you that he has wildly surpassed all of my expectations. The team was respectful of our family, clean, absolutely handled every detail, and at times even refused to take my money for upgrades or options that they felt wouldn't benefit our home. Truly exceptional.

I now have another project underway with the team, and are looking at a complete home theater upgrade soon. My home network runs the best it ever has, I have total transparency over both what's been done and HOW it's been done, and Jeff and the team get the highest marks in organization, communication, and ultimately my satisfaction as a customer.

Black Level AV delivers a phone to home tailored experience from the moment you first reach out. Jeff spent plenty of time with me from the initial walk through to identify my wants, asking poignant questions to guide the plan, and educating me about all of my options from sound down to storage centers that would elevate the aesthetics of my rooms. He was respectful of my budget and assisted me in making the right choices to maximize my entertainment centers around the whole house from sound to visuals.

My experience was only made better by the install team he sent to my home within a week of me making the decision to move forward with the scope of work. Parker and Josh were consummate professionals through the entire process. They took careful care to hang my frame TV with speed but deliberate attention to its wall placement and relationship to the room. Further from here they educated me on the pre-existing wiring that existed and walked me through setup and user tips on my new TV/Apple TV system. The work didn’t stop there! They then setup and tuned my new sound system and entertainment center in the media room. This being my first one I was appreciative of the time spent making sure I understood the most common complications and how to trouble shoot them. Most are user error items. The team was in and out leaving my home and equipment better than they found it!
