Lafayette Pioneer Cemetery — Local services in McMinnville

I have been there twice. Once at night and once during the day time to early evening.

The cemetery has a legend of a witch that was hung there. The actual story is more chilling. Richard Marple was convicted of killing a local business man in the late 1800's with an ax. He was sentenced to death and hung somewhere in Yamhill County. His mother, Anna Marple was deeply distraught and troubled over the execution and cursed the city of Lafeyette, OR to burn down three times. It is unknown if Richard Marple is buried in the cemetery but Anna Marple is in fact, buried in Jackson County, OR.

There are anomalies in the cemetery. The cistern in front of the cemetery has high EMF. If you read the names from some graves, EMF meters will spike momentarily. We used a thermal camera and had a cold spot anomaly.

Aside from the anomalies, the cemetery is beautiful and has been cleaned up a lot. When visiting, please be respectful as this is an incredible part of the local history. Additionally, be mindful of sink holes as the ground is soft and may not be...

Went there on 8/21/2019. I made a spirit mad when I told her I wasnt going to trespass his/her home but I did anyway. Then when I went back to my car, before I left, everytime I asked if someone was there, some rocks or something hard would fall from the trees. It was cloudy, but it wasn't windy at all! And when I wasn't talking to anyone there nothing fell down. Crazy...

Went there at about 4:30pm yesterday. It was smaller than I thought. Pretty. Looked like a stereotypical "haunted" cemetery. Like something out of an episode of Scooby-Doo.
