I accidentally left w/o paying for my gas once. I paid for everything else but forgot the gas. I hadn't been there for a couple months and when I did stop in boss lady was working. She mentioned the gas I hadn't paid for. I was shocked and embarrassed. I was truly mortified and i asked her if she was sure it was me. She showed me the video. I couldn't believe it but there it was. Thankfully she is a smart lady and saw by the video it was not on purpose. The clerk and I were talking and she rang up everything but we both forgot about the gas. Obviously I paid for ALL my fuel right there. My face beet red. Apologizing repeatedly. Thanking her for not having me arrested. I honestly didn't do it on purpose. I still felt guilty about it for months. It became an inside joke between us.Now I make sure I pay fuel first and then the other goods. She has done this for others too. Most places wouldn't have used common sense and good judgment as she had. They would have called the police, made a report and lots of us would be felons and not have a drivers license for several months. I always liked and respected her, but that brought my respect up to a whole new level. God bless her for that. Don't think you can put one over on her and do it on purpose, apologize later. She will catch you. She watches the video very carefully and then decides. I had an emergency once and in my rush I left my purse home. I couldn't turn around. I went in and told her what was going on and asked her if I could please get enough gas togetto thehospitalandbacktopay her. She let me get my gas and pay her when I was back from the hospital. It was the first thing I did. There aren't many places that will do that these days. I understand why. Yet when someone does that kind of solid for a stranger, that's a place I'll go back to. If there's something you want they don't sell, ask them, and they will get it in the store for you. Simple candy, chips, liquor, or whatever. They'll stock it for you. Their ATM fee is the lowest around the area, too. I had a little bump tonight, but after everything else and how nice boss lady has always been, im not complaining. Other employees too, but she calls the shots. This is my most common spot to stop. I do however, ALWAYS pay for my fuel before I pay for anything else so I don't forget again. Its been about 2 years ago now, and it still makes me feel funny. Lol. I started this review with a chip on my shoulder over a little bump there tonight and as I was typing i couldn't help but remember the much better and bigger things done for me there so my review changed. I should have posted long ago about the good stuff. I am sorry for that. They deserve a great review. After every kindness, yep, they do. I'm late to typing it but on time for it meaning alot to me. Things aren't perfect in the world, but it's a pretty good place to make a quick stop. Pizza is good, too. Boss Lady's is the best but it's still pretty good. Definitely give it a try. I gotta add a comment because of some crappy comments on here. If your purchase is rung up wrong say something. Rather than go away mad, open your mouth and say something. They will fix it if it's their mistake. If you don't say something it's on you. Bet you wouldn't leave a great review if the clerk gave you too much money back though. The tax on food, some don't realize. Say something. Hot food IS taxed. As for whining about the prices. Smaller stores don't buy the bulk amounts that bigger stores do so they pay more money. I have watched them sell several items under what they paid just to help the people out. I know because i had said something about the price of eggs. She showed me the price list and the price on my dozen was under her cost. Everyone makes mistakes. So if you see an overcharge on your purchase, be an adult and say something about it. They will honor it. Give that a try before dropping a bad review. They are not out to rip you off. If you're going to whine over a few pennies, grow your own food, hunt your own meat, or grow up and say...
Read moreThey don't restock their products and was rude. Wanted a cappuccino this morning and they were empty and when asked if they had more in stock, they just put an "out of order" sign on the machine instead of actually checking real quick. The lady (which was the owner) working looked annoyed when asked. I work in customer service and the motto is usually to try your best to make customers satisfied. Would have been fine if they at least checked and if they didn't have the product, then they didn't. But the way the situation was handled was unprofessional...
Read moreOur car broke down here, and we were a long way from home. We had to wait hours for a tow truck - and the staff here was so incredibly helpful in make sure we were warm and assuring us we were welcome to stay inside (it’s 4 degrees outside). So very kind! Besides that, this is such a CLEAN store, and there’s a big enough selection here that everyone was able to get exactly what they wanted for dinner as we waiting for our tow! Highly...
