This community center has the worst director. It is extremely unorganized! We booked a room for my grandfather's 80th birthday and the process of trying to pay the deposit alone was draining. We were told we needed to pay over the phone and could electronically sign paperwork. We repeatedly asked for the paperwork only to be told we had to come in. I come in the make the deposit, well they don't take deposits over the weekend but informed me that if I had a money order or check I could just leave the check with them. That was an absolute no. On the day I returned to pay the deposit the director is asking if I can come at a certain time because he'll be leaving by 12 or 1pm. This is in the middle of the week and people have jobs. I'm not going to constantly move my schedule because you all don't have the proper system in place for the events. Pay the deposit but the only conformation I get is a receipt. I don't get a copy of the paperwork, which I requested or any other booking information. Fast forward, we find a better venue with organizational skills. I cancel a week before but during my cancelation call I inquire about the deposit. I was told that I would recieve my deposit back and that it would take 3 weeks. I asks for a confirmation again and they aren't able to give one. The employee states that once the refund is initiated I'll recieve an email. 3 weeks go by and I hear nothing. I call and the director answers. I inform him of the situation he also states that I'll receive a refund. I ask him to send me an email because they don't send confirmations for anything. He replies he'll email that day. 2 days later nothing. I call and he states that since it wasn't 14 days before I don't get a refund. I ask why wasn't that stated when I called because I asked. He replies :it's in the paperwork you signed" my reply " you mean the paperwork I asked for a copy of and never recieved". He then says "well you signed it" at that point I'm annoyed, so informed him that I will be complaining and they are completely horrible. But even though I signed the paperwork I also took a photo for this very reason. The contract actually states that if you cancel within 14 days you receive a full refund and anything after is 50%. They are possibly keeping people's refunds and deposits at this community center and are in desperate need of a new director.
