Iâve had my fair share of positive moments here, but unfortunately, the establishment has undergone significant changes. I began bringing my pet here around five years ago. It wasnât my top choice, but its proximity to my home and reasonable pricing made it a convenient option. However, over time, it seemed as though they were actively trying to deter business. There are obvious staff shortages here, which seem to be confirmed by their, inconvenient operating hours and odd closure days.
Could this be why theyâve implemented policies that appear to be designed to discourage customers? For example, many places allow pet owners to administer their own vaccines. Iâve been giving my pet the Bordetella vaccine for years, even documenting it with photos of the labels and bottles. Yet, they insisted that I couldnât board there if I was handling my own vaccinations.
Once things started to normalize post-COVID, I decided to have the vet give the bordetella vaccine. I attempted to schedule boarding for an upcoming vacation, only to be told I was calling too early and couldnât book outside of a 60-day window. This was incredibly frustrating, as kennels in our area fill up quickly. After planning an expensive international trip, I really wanted the peace of mind of knowing my dog had a place to board.
I marked my calendar to call back within the specified time frame. However, months later, when I finally made the call, I was informed that the owner no longer accepts Italian mastiffs at the kennel. I canât say I was surprised, considering I hadnât been able to get my dog in for the past few years. Sadly, this often happens when businesses have an abundance of customers⌠they no longer feel the need to provide real value.
Itâs disheartening that we were treated this way and then simply discarded. A more sensible management decision might have been to stop accepting NEW Italian mastiffs. Considering the breedâs average lifespan is only about eight years, and theyâve already been accommodating us for five, we could have continued for the next three before being turned away. Now, I will never support this business again, even when I get a...
Read moreMy husband and I recently went on a vacation, leaving our 2-year-old Labrador retriever behind for the first time. Finding the right boarding facility was crucial, as we wanted to ensure our fur baby would receive the care, love, and attention sheâs accustomed to. After extensive research, we chose Briarcliff Pet Resort & Chateau Briarcliff, and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made.
From the start, the Facility Manger, Juliet, made a lasting impression with her warmth and patience. She addressed all my questions thoroughly and made me feel completely at ease. By the end of our conversation, I felt like we had known each other for years.
Our visit to the facility confirmed our choice. Juliet and Dave, the Training Director / Doggy Day Supervisor, were welcoming and professional, and the facility itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, and their care for our fur baby was evident.
Throughout our trip, Juliet and Dave kept us updated with photos and videos of our dog, which was incredibly comforting and meant the world to us. The staff at Briarcliff is outstandingâkind, attentive, and responsive. In addition, their website is user-friendly and offers a range of convenient online services.
We were so pleased with how well our fur baby was cared for that weâre already planning our next trip and will definitely board her at Chateau Briarcliff again. We highly recommend Briarcliff Pet Resort & Chateau Briarcliff to anyone looking for a reliable and loving boarding facility. Thank you, Juliet, Dave, and the entire Briarcliff team for providing such exceptional care to our fur baby and making our first experience away from her...

I am a new dog mom, I had a family trip & decided to board my dog in w/my sister's 2 dogs-so she would have family with her!
This place is extremely hard to get a hold of, they promise pictures everyday-sometimes they send them, sometimes they don't! A schedule is posted on the website of what the dogs will be doing on a daily bases-which isn't followed AT ALL!! *I had a camera in my dog's vineyard suite-they rarely left the room! Small beds were not provided to them as promised (I would have brought my dog's bed for her, if that was the case), no kong as promised was provided, I paid extra for daily walks which I'm almost positive were not done, and I never saw food in the room!
I expressed my complaints and concerns & was informed that they are extremely understaffed, cannot keep reliable staff at the facility & animals that stay there unfortunately suffer, but they are currently looking for ppl to fill the positions!!
In addition, I picked both mine & my sister's dogs up (3 total), and all seem very depressed!! In fact, my sister's dog-2days later-still depressed!
I am never taking my dog here, ever again!! I...
