The Observatory was awesome. We arrived early and were able to immediately view Saturn and Jupiter through the smaller telescopes outside. There were people explaining what we were viewing as well as offering neat tibits as we experienced the cosmos. We then went inside and signed up to see Mars through the large telescope. We got to see Mars through the small scope but when we went to the large one they had it set to Saturn. We would have had to wait later in the evening to see Mars up close, so we settled for dear Saturn. Turns out it was pretty cool. We saw some of the moons and the rings were totally visible. The only downside is that the university installed a lot of street lights over nearby parking lot which they leave on all night. It creates a lot of light pollution and makes to harder to see constellations with less bright stars. The university ought to turn the lights out after 10pm or something.
