First and foremost, we cut our filet with a butter knife. A dull, hardly ridged, butter knife. The knife you use to cut butter, we cut a juice 8oz, beautifully cut, perfectly seasoned and prepared to exactly the requested medium rare, filet. We were mind blown to say the least. I truly couldn’t give Chef Marie enough stars or write enough words in this review; to even give a glimpse of how PERFECT she made our day! From day one of planning to event day, she was OFF THE CHARTS exceeding every single expectation we had for a personal chef! She listened to us, which was more than the other few chefs we spoke with, she gave feedback and even kindly gave recommendations. She was so considerate that this was new to use and we didn’t really even have a clue about hiring a private chef. She walked us through the whole process, what to expect, when, how, what she does, etc!! We ALL were beyond blown away!! When she showed up, she was very fun and we throughly enjoyed her company; yet she was focused on prepping and cooking! This was a surprise birthday meal for a close friend of ours that has never had a chance to celebrate his birthday to do his career. This was the first time ever he was able to properly celebrate and she made it an EPIC and unforgettable birthday. We recently threw a fantastic, elegant surprise birthday party with 34 guests in our backyard in Bergen County, and Chef Marie made it an event to remember. Amazing Customized Menu: Chef Marie really nailed it with the menu. She took our preferences and the season into account, offering great suggestions that perfectly matched our needs. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right, even with some tricky requests. Stress-Free Party: Having Chef Marie and her team was such a relief. They showed up early, got used to our space quickly, and took care of everything so we didn’t have to stress. They made the whole event so much easier and more enjoyable. Top-Notch Service: Beyond the mains being perfect (Prime Rib, Salmon, Lemon Chicken) being spot on, one of the best things about Chef Marie’s service was how clean and organized everything stayed. OMG what an amazing experience! We used Chef Marie for a surprise birthday dinner - NYC style since we could not inside dine in the city. Our fav meal is italian, and we really needed Chef Marie to bring some city italian to us! And boy did she ever! The scallops and lump crab cake to start off with was delicious! And we had left overs of it...left overs of every course of the meal!!!!

Before the night, she worked with me to make it a surprise for the special birthday girl, and she everything that was needed. WE had a beautiful table setting, and enjoyed a romantic candle lit evening together...

She was great to chat with during our dinner about her experiences, her expertise, etc. It was a super great night, plus the food was so good!

I challenged her to make us an italian dish that is our fav from nyc, cacio e pepe -- she delivered! it was so good - homemade pasta, gluten free to say the least - and we couldnt even tell that it was !
