I have been purchasing at least 5 pounds of tobacco every month for the past couple years and I have been satisfied with the quality of the Leaf Only products. In the two years of purchases I was only disappointed once. After some thought I sent an email with photographs of the product that I was dissatisfied with to Leaf Only customer service email informing them that I was not happy with my last order. Within a day or two I received a call from Jason who asked me what the issue was. After a couple minutes discussing the problem he apoligized and explained that I may have received the end of a large batch of leaves (which is what I thought) and he asked me how they can make good on the issue. I told Jason that I was able to use 2 1/2 lbs of the 5 lbs ordered and Jason said he would ship out a replacment the next day. I was happily surprised when 2 days later I received 4 lbs of nice replacment tobacco leaves. I have to give Leaf Only credit that they were pleasent in all communications with me, and promptly replaced the product that was not up to thier normal quality. I believe that Jason understood that I was not being unreasonable and he could see my purchase history and never had a complaint. This is the way all businesses should be operated. I'm surprised to see all the negative reviews. I think those negative reviews may be coming from customers who are expecting perfect leaves and expecting that RYO cigarettes is a simple process. RYO is a time-consuming task with a pretty good learning curve to master. (there aren't any shortcuts) It took me some time to get the moisture content right, and it takes time! If I need to rehydrate the burley it may take several days for the tobacco moisture content to be uniform throughout the batch of tobacco. Too moist and it gums up the cutter blades and won't smoke properly, and too dry and you end up with awful tasting dust. Each time I have purchased fronto or grabba leaves they have been nearly perfect. I think some customers might be expecting the same quality leaves when purchasing the 2 & 5lb kits. Burley is a very thin leaf which dries quickly. Granted, it is difficult to rehydrate and then get the tobacco back to the correct moisture levels before prepping and getting ready to roll. I think the shipping fees are pretty fair. And every order I have made has been packed & boxed properly and in good quality, new cardboard boxes (which are not inexpensive). I have purchased from one other website that is not affiliated with Leaf Only and I was disappointed in the quality. Sometimes I get a 5 pound kit and all the tobacco is absolutely beautiful and easy to work with, and other times it seems that I may have received tobacco that is the end of Leaf Only's batch of tobacco which is understandable as we are working with commodity product. Sure, I wish every batch was perfect, but that's not realistic. In the past year and half, I did comment once. I just put a note on my order explaining that my last order left a little to be desired and asked that they please take some extra care on this new order, and they did send me a beautiful 5lb kit. So, the facts are, ...tobacco is an agricultural commodity product that will constantly vary. So, for myself, Leaf Only is the only place to purchase raw tobacco leaves. Good quality, consistent product, and...
Read moreI buy for cigar rolling and have for a few years. The leaves are usually in good shape as they are premium wrapper grade, so no real complaints there. My issue is that they have the absolute worst customer service. Order fulfillment has to be expedited with a fee in order to get it in a timely manner and you have to pay upgraded shipping in order to make sure your order gets to you on any sort of deadline. Make sure you pay for UPS shipping not USPS and expedite that! They are rude and uncaring about their product once it leaves their facility. Whoever took my call today was curt and condescending about tracking my order and offered no help. " Still in route, so It'll get to you" I will miss 2 deadlines due to this. Because they have a complete monopoly on the whole leaf industry they think they can treat their customers with no respect. It is shameful ! Edit the day I sent this review I received an email from the COO. It was very apologetic and offered me upgraded fulfillment at no charge for my further orders. I am grateful for the response and his understanding that the problem was not how long time customers should be handled. As a fellow small business owner, it did pain me to send such a review, but it needed addressing. I did receive my leaves, and will meet my final deadline. Wish the USPS allowed...
Read moreI've ordered from leaf only for years and over that time their product and customer service has diminish greatly. I ordered 2 lbs from then and out of the 70 leaves I received, only 30 where viable. the greater majority of the damage being holes large enough to fit my hand through.
I contacted them about the issue, sent pictures, explaining clearly what was wrong and each time MONIQUE would act confused as if they weren't able to comprehend the scenario. then would proceed to push the goal post back by saying they needed photo evidence of each individual leaf. I compiled, though it took some time to take the pictures and upload them to a file share, I got it done. then suddenly, communication stops completely. I sent 5 emails to MONIQUE AT LEAH ONLY and none of them were NEVER replied to or returned as undelivered.
I filed a claim with BBB and rather than try to resolve they issue, MONIQUE made claims that they didn't receive the emails. I sent screenshots of the emails, proving without a doubt they'd been sent I even went as far as to resend them after they claimed they weren't recieved and still no response. even after all that LEAF ONLY STILL HAS NOT REPLACED MY ORDER OR REIMBURSED ME.
LEAF ONLY DOESN'T VALUE ITS CUSTOMERS AND LACKS...
